Might be better to have a mental competency test for the younger generation.
I have seen some stupid driving by younger people. Most senior citizens are
more cautious and some even attend Drivers Ed update classes.

How stupid and arrogant. Except for being under age or not a legal citizen there should be no reason for an American to not vote.

I truly believe they should give the Liberals a competency test.First question I would ask them is.What is a Budget and why should we have one?

No. I think everyone under 65, especially women, minorities and Democrat men should take a competency test before voting. And should have to prove they are who they say they are and are not dead. They are the ones who voted Barack Obama into office.

If you are going to test, test everyone. I know far to many under 40's who are brain dead when it comes to election issues.

How about voting privileges don't start until you are 35. And EVERY voter should have to take a CIVICS/Citizenship test.

No people of a certain age shouldn't be singled out. Might I add an intelligence test, along with a competency test to those who voted for Obuttman, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and us over here at the Right side favorite, Debbie WasAman Sgt. Schultz. Now there is someone who definitely needs to be tested. Phew.

If we enacted that law it would be reasonable to require EVERY elected official 65+ years old to take a mental competency test before they vote on any laws and legislation.

Could be a good idea to do that with politicians anyway.

are you kidding? This isnt about liberals or conservatives, but about older folks. Most older folks are conservatives, te ones I talk to anyway. The older crowd seems to be the only ones left with any brains lately...

Me? Kidding? Hell, no. Don't forget, you're the one who drew the line between the smart segment of society and everyone else. This is indeed about liberals and conservatives. The only problem is that you incorrectly described yourself as being in the smart segment and from where I sit, I 'm really not seeing much brain usage from anyone on the right.

Ah, my mistake. You made reference about a lame idea to keep the smart segment of society from voting, so I naturally assumed you were talking about denying liberals the right to vote. I knew you couldn't be talking about America's conservatives. They're all idiots.

Senior Citizens (65 +) should have to take a mental competency test before they vote if they are liberals. Also anyone under 65 should have to take a mental competency test before they vote if they are liberals.

I would be more inclinded to think that those under the age of 30 would be more in need of a cometency before voting then the older folks...many of the young tend to be clueless when it comes to politics...

There might be justification for everyone to pass a competency test before being given a voter registration card that permits them to cast a ballot. Certainly there are millions out there who simply blindly cast a vote for or against anyone or anything without giving any thought or without any reason. Here on SH I've read hundreds of questions and comments
declaring that such unthinking persons will vote for "anyone or anything other than Obama", or words to that effect. Such proud ignorance is, of course, a great weakness of our Republic, allowing depots and influences such as the "corporation persons" and Reagan Banks to control our Congress and our lives. Conversely, of course, there are blocks of other voters who will vote for other reasons unrelated to matters of importance.

Other than the "over 65 years" population, I greatly fear the young voters who have so little knowledge of much of anything they can't identify half the states of the Union, haven't a clue where "Central America" is, and have so little knowledge of our heritage and history as to not recognize the names of more than six or eight former Presidents, etc., etc. How they turn them out from the school systems is a mystery beyond explanation.

I would support any program that is fairly and uniformly admin...

I would support any program that is fairly and uniformly administered that requires basic knowledge and understanding of our society and it's Government. There are several provisions of the U.S. Constitution in need of revision to better effect the working of our Republic. This is just one such matter that should be given serious attention by minds not
chained to ideologies and glories of past Centuries.
