Should Sanctuary Communities Be Penalized?

It seems that the federal government, in particular the Department of Justice once again, is squandering our tax dollars. This time in properly dealing with illegal immigration and sanctuary communities.
Last time we checked, the overwhelming majority of Americans (read that as tax payers) opposes the continued presence of illegal aliens in this nation. Keeping that in mind, why has the DOJ been rewarding communities that have established themselves as sanctuaries for illegal immigrants? That's right. The rewards have been coming in the form of grants to these communities commonly known as SCAPP.
This is how it works. These communities are caterwauling about the cost of illegal immigration and at the same time demanding that the federal government reimburse them for their expenses while in the same breath enacting local polices to serve as a magnet to attract these same illegal aliens.
Does that make any sense. It seem to me that the communities who are setting themselves up as sanctuaries for these criminals should be penalized for helping to breah this nation's immigration laws.
I know some of the posters here won't read the article at the link but it might be recommended before inserting that foot in your mouth. It explains a lot more than I have above.
I report, you decide.

"Supreme Court decisions"
"The correct interpretation of the 14th Amendment is that an illegal alien mother is subject to the jurisdiction of her native country, as is her baby.
Over a century ago, The Supreme Court appropriately confirmed this restricted interpretation of Citizenship in the so-called "Slaughter House cases (83 vs 36) (1873) and 112 US94 (1884). In the 1884 Elk v. Wilkins case, the phrase "Subject to its jurisdiction" was interpreted to exclude "children of ministers, consuls, and citizens of foreign states born within the United States, but completely subject to their political jurisdiction and owing their direct and immediate allegiance.
The Court essentially stated that the status of the parents determines the citizenship of the child. To qualify children for birthright citizenship, based on the 14th Amendment, parents must owe "direct and immediate allegiance" to the U.S. and be "completely subject" to its jurisdiction. In other words they must be United States Citizens.
Congress subsequently passed a special Act to grant full citizenship to American Indians who were born within the borders of the United States.
The original intent of the 14th Amendment was clearly not to facilitate illegal aliens...

The original intent of the 14th Amendment was clearly not to facilitate illegal aliens defying U.S. law and obtaining citizenship for their offspring, nor obtaining benefits at taxpayers expense. Current estimates indicate there may be between 300,000 and 700,000 anchor babies born each year in the U.S. thus causing illegal alien mothers to add more to the U.S. population each year than immigrants from all sources in an average year before 1965."
"America citizens must be wary of elected politicians voting to illegally extend our generous social benefits to illegal aliens and other criminals."
no taxpayer funded services for them!
no fed $$$. and also cities around them should invite the MINUTEMEN TO SURROUND SAID town and catch them coming and going and deport the illegals.
the rest will take care of itself.
'Sanctuary cities' should be declared illegal by definition.
Meanwhile I believe that those cities that choose to call themselves Sanctuaries should foot the whole costs themselves and, should have all Federal Dollar or actually our dollars taken from them till they choose to follow the Immigration Laws on the books.
I always to drive a bulldozer, they look like fun.
I wouldn't have to add sound effects :)
And yes it does make sense, if you want a cheap labor force or cheaply bought voters, it's a "win-win" for both the Repubs and Demoncrats.
This didn't just happen, as I recall this started under Clinton with the Sanctuary cities, but it may go back to the trouble in El Salvadore and codified under Clinton. The Catholic church even has their hands in up to their cloisters. It is well beyond "life and death protection" of the political assylum for a few as it was when it first was started, nobel, then a money maker. All of the Cities now are Demoncrat run red ink cities with more debt than tax base. What's a few "dead bodies" when compared to the money loss?
Well it has been decided by Obama, and the Justice Department, that anything that has to do with Sanctuary Cities is off limits. That Securing the Border is a No No. That we should sue a State Such as Arizona, because they wanted to do something to control their border. Because the US Government, that is tasked to provide that protection and security has no will to do so. It is more important to them that they gain a voting block, and retain their long over due tenures in Government. Lets by all means not do what is called for in the enumerated powers in the Constitution. Lets say we are, and do nothing. Lets claim the People don't understand, that they are to dumb. That they are idiots. Lets listen to Mexico, and feel sorry for them, while they continue to flood our country with illegal drugs, and illegal Aliens. You might notice I did not say immigrant. They are not immigrants, Immigrants enter this country by invitation only You can be a legal Immigrant or and Legal Alien. But if you are not by our laws invited and don't have the legal papers to prove it, your nothing more than Illegal. That is what the Government that is charged to protect us from invasion, on any quarter is charged to provide. There is no getting around it, it is written in plain Understandable Engl...

Mexico and there Presidents both past and present think of North America as their Welfare System. They can't provide for their own, so entice them to cross the border. If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
