Should Republicans Support Christine O'Donnell's New Committee?

Christine O’Donnell, three-time loser for a U.S. Senate seat from Delaware has shocked the world by announcing that she is not giving up the political limelight and is in fact starting ChristinePAC, her own political action committee.

Should we Republicans be hauling out our baby sealskin checkbooks and sending her donations? Hell no.

The last thing Republicans need is O’Donnell running for office again.

I’m not saying that because she dabbled in witchcraft. I myself once took a Tae-Bo class. We all get swept up in crazy cults once in awhile.

And it’s not because she once “fooled around” on a blood-stained Satanic altar, but she doesn’t want kids educated about safe sex. That’s so ironic because “don’t have sex on bloody Satanic altars” seems like an excellent safe-sex tip on several levels.

And I can’t fault her for not knowing that the separation of church and state comes from the First Amendment. At least she knew there was a First Amendment.

The reason I don’t want O’Donnell running for office is that I don’t want to deliver any more congressional seats to the Democrats.

O’Donnell faced nine-term Delaware U.S. House Rep. Mike Castle in the Republican Senate primary last year. Castle, the early favorite, had a significant lead in the polls over Democratic opponent, Chris Coons, a relative unknown.

In a Castle vs. Coons general election, the Republicans were very likely to pick up Joe Biden’s vacated Senate seat. But then O’Donnell convinced the Tea Party that Castle was too liberal, despite the fact that he voted with his fellow Republicans 87 percent of the time and they helped her win the primary. She then turned around and lost to Coons by 17 points in the general election.

Clearly she now has her sights set on Castle’s House seat. Her fundraising letter reads in part:

“A strong ChristinePAC will enable me to counter the liberal-controlled GOP establishment in upcoming Congressional Primaries.”

Liberal-controlled GOP establishment? Someone tell those Commies, Mitch McConnell and Eric Cantor, to watch their backs.

The reality is that O’Donnell is an opportunist who doesn’t care if she hurts the Republican Party as long as she gets her own way. So do me a favor, my fellow Republicans, put the checkbooks down and let’s hope O’Donnell melts away.

Absolutely. They should contribute a pile . W#e need all the entertainment that can be we can get. Most of the people who have an office or stand a chance of winning one are like broken records and seldom say anything meaningfull or the least bit interesting. O'donnel on the otherhand takes all of the seriousness out of politics and elections. I kind of miss Pat Paulson , and O'donnel seems a logical choice to take his place as the perpetual candidate that never stands a chance in hell of winning anythig but a round of applause, for a good comic performance.

Yes. Maybe. By being so meek last November the RNC fumbled O'Donnell's chances to upset a democrat. The thing wrong with this picture IS NOT O'Donnell. It's those who think they have it all figured out (and these are the same folks who have contributed to the gigantic, super sized mess we are in right now). There is nothing automatically wrong with new blood in politics. What has the "old blood" done for you lately?

Republicans are free to do whatever they wish and the post below sounds like the author is a very angry Castle supporter. Almost anyone can run for public office as demonstrated by Christine O'Donnell for US Senate in DE, Alvin Greene for US Senate in SC, and Ralph Nader for US President. The Republican and Democratic parties, as well as other political parties or efforts are free to nominate and run whoever they think best represents them. O'Donnell won the primary in DE despite Castle being the front runner and a long time, well known politician. Incumbency did not serve Castle well in his last political outing. Personally, I would not support or vote for O'Donnell, but she certainly hs the right to run, and should she win her primary then she should be her party's standard bearer. People are not required to spend their money for candidates they do not support. I would recommend people not give their money to national parties, rather that they support the individual candidate with their contribution, time and/or efforts. Sadly, national political parties are no different that unions......once they get your $$$$ they spend it on what they want to spend it on which may often not be where you think it should go.

One of the rare times that I agree with a republican. The author could be on to something. Christine is an opportunist, right out. She has not held a job for years !!! She's using donors to fund her lifestyle and stands in elections only to lose them. Now she wants to rob the donors big time. Run her off !!!!!!

Ah, come on Jack, what is it that makes you go off your tracks, when ever her name is mentioned?? You have the hots for her?? Is that it?? Every one that I know of has already gone past the last Delaware elections, but it is apparent that you haven't. What is it Jack??

I think the Tea Party and all those who support it need to break off the Republican Party and start their own party with their crazy thinking comrades. Tea Party, if you think you are all that, start your own party and start leaching off from the Republican Party's success.

She doesn't need the "GOP machine"
She's better off on her own.. depending on individual citizen's support.

First off, Christine O'Donnell would make a better than Coons or Castle! Both of these Regressives are going to continue our nations slide into the political abyss called Socialism! If winning is all that is important, than let's just compromise ALL our Constitution away! I could care less if Republicans win anything if we are going to get an updated version of the previous majority in the Senate! Christine, as inexperienced as she was would have helped to halt the slide that our accepting of RINOs has started us on!Perhaps if some of you "centrist" Republicans would get a backbone we might have a better chance of restoring this country to prosperity and Constitutionality! If Mike Castle is your answer, we would be better off if you became Democrats! If, by the way Christine O'Donnell is a loser, what does that make Castle!!!!

She is just not good political material.
Her judgement is questionable. Who would start a campaign message with "I'm not a witch"? She dosen't want safe sex taught, but I'm still out on that one depending on the age of the students. He experience is not strong in governance or business.
She obviously had a lot of support and was convincing and that can be best used in other arenas such as a ward leader or GOTV coordinator.
I'm not very comfortable with her handling of finances as well.

Send your money to the monkey at the zoo, he's smarter. Or better yet, Republicans, stop making anti-elitist morons rich elitists and keep your money in your pocket. If you look at all these Republican pundits, they are making MILLIONS off the members of the party with bumper stickers, coffee mugs, posters, soap bars, insider websites, repetitious books...etc. Here's an idea, stop being exploited by fools.

    1) I'm not a liberal.
    2) I agree with you. Blacks and Mexicans need to stop being treated like second class citizens in America by both parties.
    3) Listening to Palin, Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity...etc. Is like listening to someone eating a BLT telling you not to eat pork.
    4) You have a large portion of America who feel disenfranchised. They have been neglected, and not just by Obama, for the past 10-12 years. Finally, with a black democrat president the perfect storm has been created and it's starting to boil over in the form of the 'tea party.'
    5) This 'tea party' is so, in my opinion, blinded by anger that fools who have little to no credentials like Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Christine O'Donnell are rising to power because they say whatever the people want to hear, and not necessarily what is logical. They're irrational megalomaniacs. They're not intelligent, it's obvious.
    6) Please don't give me this 'you don't need to go to college to be intelligent' nonsense. That's a preposterous argument. For example, the founding father's were all scholars in one way or another and certainly NOT anti-intellectual. Make the Bill Gates argument, fine. Lots of people can do many different things at any point, but that doesn't discredit the importance of being learned.

Listen - the best thing that has happen to the democratic party since FDR is this Tea Party movement and Sarah Palin ( and the like). The republicans can NOT secure the WH without swing dems and independent voters.. Reagan knew that in 1980 - that is why he sought out his Reagancrats.... this Tea Party movement will split the Republican Party... like in 2008 - Obama will win the WH in 2012 before polls close West of the Mississippi River.....the likes of Bachmann, Palin and witch craft "Chicken Bones" O'Donnell are just helping to forward the democratic agenda...I am actually considering sending the Tea Party a donation check...do such will help exposed their agenda...and will give them a false sense of how much TRUE backing they have...
