Absolutely not! There should be English classes, but not only English classes. That is stupid. It is like saying that one's native tongue is not good enough.

I'm half puerto-rican living in America and my command of English is far better than any Spanish I know. But, I don't expect people on the Island to be the same way. Why should I? Somehow knowing Spanish better than English is a curse? But, knowing ONLY English is fine?

All courses should be taught in English but English should not be the only language taught in school. A lot more higher level books are in English (less books available in other languages also) so it's an advantage to any student to be literate in English. I don't believe everyone has to speak English.

In the Ukraine English is not mandatory but the teaching of is encouraged , I started learning English in grade. 3 seems like the teaching of English should be encouraged or even mandatory in Puerto Rico along with Spanish because it is a US territory, it would only benefit the people. IMO

In Britain the Welsh are very proud of their language, and rightly so. There it is manditory to teach english & their native welsh. Can't PR do the same?
