In the article below its states that Texas no longer wishes to teach "higher order thinking skills" as it might challenge students fixed beliefs. Now I've read The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, but, I'm shocked to see actual proof of this occurring. I thought the purpose of education was to advance people beyond their current level of thinking! But that is not all, they also want to do away with Thomas Jefferson as an influential political philosopher. This is probably solely due to his anti-christian sentiment. not enough adjectives to describe my disgust.

We need to teach children how to think, not what to think.
