We already have the crazed conspiracy bigots wishing for his failure and doing everything in their power to ensure the American people never see what they do behind the scenes to undermine the man. We need to avoid complications likely from such a move. The right (wrong on so much) would lap that up and use it to prove any number of unsavoury ideas.

I have had it, just legalize the stuff. All it really is any more is a money tool for the cops.

IT is a medicine and it needs to be seen as that. How many sick and dying people have to testify it HELPS THEM!!!! And really with all the jobs needed here in the US a SMART President would harness that and USE it to his advantage.

Easier to regulate something you've legalized, add the fact it drives down prices on the dealers as there's less supply and demand issues, which also drives down related crime from people trying to buy their next fix. Add health benefits as you lessen the need to share paraphernalia when it's legal.

there is no logical reason to keep marijuana illegal. Legalizing it would reduce the need for a huge prison industrial complex, increase tax revenue, and increase freedom. Keeping it illegal just means this country is more like Oceania than the United States Of America.

I don't think that the legalization of it would be under Obama, but if he were to support its legalization I'd be for it. Ron Paul would legalize it for sure, but I don't like a lot of his other policies so I wouldn't vote for him. With Obama we'd have illegal pot, but we'd still have things like the EPA and FDA and Social Security and Civil Rights, which are much more important.

I never thought I'd see the day when I'd embrace a Ron Paul policy. I've lived long enough to know that we lost the war on drugs decades ago. That war has worked about as well as Prohibition did. Like Prohibition, its made the gangsters richer & more powerful.

IMHO marijuana should be legalized, regulated & taxed when used for recreational purposes. Medical marijuana should be dispensed as other pharmaceuticals are & not be taxed.

Just because I support one policy doesn't mean I'm throwing my support behind everything he stands for. As the mother of 5 black children I will never disavow the Civil Rights Act or Voting Rights Act.

I'm an Independent & will remain thus. I support what I believe is FAIR & JUST.

One doesn't need a ''civil rights movement'' under Libertarian philosophy. Group rights are a sign of a divided people. We don't need ''Gay rights'' or ''Mexican rights'' if we weren't being denied our rights to begin with... get it..? Restore our rights as a whole not in little groups... Group rights are a fools concept. You either have rights or you don't. Affirmative action is racist against blacks in a free society.

Listen, I'm not a Libertarian so preaching your philosophy won't make any traction with me whatsoever. This country has proven through enactment of Jim Crowe laws that they will use the power of the "majority" against "minorities" to keep them from asserting their Constitutional rights.

The slaves were set free in the 1800s & Constitutional Amendments were added to guarantee those rights. The states rights people circumvented those rights & enacted unconstitutional laws that people down south were afraid to buck.
