Should President Obama be held to Senator Obama's 2006 Vote and Speech AGAINST raising the Debt Ceiling?

In 2006 Senator Obama called raising the Debt Ceiling reckless fiscal policy and the result of failed leadership. In 2006 Senator Obama voted against raising the Debt Ceiling, then in 2007 and 2008 he failed to vote on the Debt Ceiling. However Obama did vote for TARP, increasing the Debt Ceiling by $700 Billion.

Later Obama called his 2006 Debt Ceiling Speech and Vote "Political". If so, when is Obama real and when is he political? How does anyone believe anything he says?

Here are Obama’s thoughts on the debt limit in 2006, when he voted against increasing the ceiling:

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

In 2007 and in 2008, when the Senate voted to increase the limit by $850 billion and $800 billion respectively, Obama did not bother to vote. (He did vote for TARP, which increased the debt limit by $700 billion.)

Not that it will work... how about all of his other stances and promises... Transparency, bipartisan, uniting America, etc. It's just like his stance against the tax break for Corporate Jets, which he and his Senate and House created in 2009, now he is against it like it wasn't his creation... His memory is only as long as hand reaching for handouts!
