According to CBS, only one porn star has tested positive for syphilis, but it has led to the entire adult entertainment industry to grind to a halt until everything is sorted out. An industry group called for a "voluntary moratorium" on making any more films as doctors test other porn stars and try to prevent an outbreak. Do you think the industry is right to go on a hiatus because of one porn star's STD contraction?

Actually I think its great of them to temporarily shut things down and check everyone out. It wont take long I'm sure and this way they can be positive they caught all the cases.

Already there is enough porn around to last practically to infinity. Even if you were the world's biggest porn addict & did nothing but sit around watching porn 24/7, you couldn't possible view it all, even in 100 lifetimes. So what's the problem if the porn industry shuts down for awhile, while dealing with a potential health epidemic? Personally I think it's a very responsible decision. A compassionate one too, since they're putting safety above financial gain. How rare is that in our society? Who ever thought we'd be getting a lesson in morality....from of all places, the porn industry!?!? Good call!

There's more porn online than anything. Even this stuck in the mud Fundamentalist can find something porno of interest if I look long and hard enough. Everything has a consequence like it or not. A society or industry and the individual have to take responsibility for what they do and for what happens. Nothing is FREE. Everything costs something, even FREE SEX. No judgement here.

There should be NO porn industry. The Constitution does NOT provide for the right to look at and/or watch sexually oriented filth. It has been proven time and time again that these kinds of movies, books, magazines, and clubs have lead to sexual assaults on women and even children. I'm not saying everyone that indulges in the deviancy of pornography commits these kinds of crimes. However, when unstable individuals reach a state of raging desire due to uncontrollable lust brought on by pornography they tend to go out and find a release by means of rape.

It doesn't say it's bad either, though. .3. afaik it doesn't mention it at all

And just because the constitution doesn't say you can, that doesn't mean you can't. I understand if there was a definitive law against it (ie thou shalt not or sth) but it's not exactlly banned or anything so...

The first amendment does just that we dont need to protect what people enjoy or like at large but is in place to protect what socity at large is less in favor of porn is the perfect example.

Oh really? And how have you reached these conclusions that pornography causes uncontrolable lust? Are these your personal feelings?

Because in actuality, scientific studies have shown that the watching of porn decreases these animalistic urges by serving as an outlet for the sexual desires ofperverts and pedophiles instead of the other way around.

If everyone shared your ignorance it would to more cases of rape and child molestation not less. Get your facts straight.
