Should Porn Industry Go on Hiatus Because of One Person's Syphilis?

According to CBS, only one porn star has tested positive for syphilis, but it has led to the entire adult entertainment industry to grind to a halt until everything is sorted out. An industry group called for a "voluntary moratorium" on making any more films as doctors test other porn stars and try to prevent an outbreak. Do you think the industry is right to go on a hiatus because of one porn star's STD contraction?

JEZEBEL.COM reports:
An adult film actor's positive syphilis test has prompted the entire industry to shut down temporarily while officials test other performers and investigate the possibility of an outbreak.

Actually I think its great of them to temporarily shut things down and check everyone out. It wont take long I'm sure and this way they can be positive they caught all the cases.

No, THat person should be taken out of the mix, It is the only industry in the world were a low IQ can make money, BUt you do find is that the smart girls are doing it for the money the big monies.there are databases of movies and stars give them the silver bullets nad send them back to work.

Not everyone in porn has a low IQ. There is a female doctor out there who used to be a porn star (that isn't a guess, that's a fact).

It seems the erotic film industry is making reasonable efforts to keep their stars safe. This is a good thing. I expect their own efforts are quite superior to those of government should they fall into the trap of government regulation.

I think a lot of this has to do with money. Please, since when does porn care about safety of their "actors"? I mean I'm pretty sure it isn't safe to stick foreign objectgs up your...hoels. Anyway, they don't want all of their actors getting STDs do they? I really don't think it has anything to do with safety, just money. Who in the world cares about a whore's safety? Do YOU care about someone's safety while you're getting off to anal fisting? I sure as hell don't.

They did not do it for something as involved as AIDS, why for something a simple as Syphilis? And who cares. lol
  • Leo addie 2012/08/25 05:45:48

Yes they did. At the mere mention of aids, the entire porn industry shut down until the actor involved was tested and cleared.

Okay, I did not remember it that way, but I will believe you.
I just remember people refusing to work with others, not that it was an industry thing and that happened in regular movies and soap operas, as well.
Good for the industry if they took official steps!

I'm not a Huge fan of anyboby who whores themself out fot fame and pleasure, and I have a bad feeling, the way they work, and have researched, to what I can, could speread very easily, and its hard to tell who has it, or who doesn't.

To which I ring up the other part, If this is what happens dependent on how often it happens, then this is no the best industry to be in.

Besides, who wants to be know for how many guys they were with, instead of how they can change the way people live?
I chose to change the world through science and technology with the idea of humanity and ethics in mind.

But I'm way off topic, though I started on topic.

I am not sure most of the people are doing it for, "fame or pleasure."
You think prostitutes and strippers are in it for the sex, they just love being with men so much that can't help themselves?

Also, as repulsive as I find the industry, your, delusional, pompous, nonsense, make me feel like defending it, get over yourself, just a little.
  • Alex, W... addie 2013/02/16 21:23:00

I would prefer to let them all die.
    (Yeah . . . I'm supporting them. ( ')_( ') )
I never got into my self to get over.
Unless they prove otherwise, that's their usual status, how most public idealize them as. I'm saying this is the worst option.

You know what I know where this is going to go. I'm just leaving my opinion, lets just leave it at that. I'm tired of these assumptions because of text.

Thanks for replying, I value others opinions.

I think they owe it to the actors to make sure everyone involved is clean.

Besides, there's already enough free porn already on the internet to sustain everybody for the next ten years or so.

Yes, that is what I was I asking. I have not seen one in a long time, there was room for quality improvement in many areas. lol

AIDS changed a lot of the porn industry practices (like any STD is so wonderful). They really had too or they would have KEPT losing actors in droves.
