Bingo! .... Thomas Sowell and Shelby Steele have recognized the price of LBJ's "Great Society" and the detriment he's imposed upon the premise of helping them out when they were fully capable of doing so already, and now, are being restrained in order to continue the limited income government provides them. She didn't get to do her "feel-good" deed for the day, and Sowell pointed out it wasn't necessary in the first place.

The biggest casualty of the Welfare/entitlement system was the intact Black
family. Somewhere I had the statistics, but it was a huge jump in fatherless black
home which led to the entitlement society, lack of male role models for the sons and
a really grim future for many Blacks.

Both Sowell and Steele address this. Steele even moreso. It's time to reverse the course, but has to start with the family and culture existing today.

Do you have the actual stats? I have seen them, and they are dramatic, but
I would like to save them for future reference............

Lt Col (Rep Fl) Allen West has said much about the Democratic/Black
relationship and expressed in terms of "The 21st Century Plantation with
Democrat Overseers." The CBC and other prominent Black pundits
try to smear him, but what he says rings true............

No, the current stats I don't have. They may be available through access to the recent nationwide demographic survey. However, there are two books that do address what is happening and has occurred. They are Thomas Sowell's "Black Rednecks and White Liberals" and Shelby Steele's "White Guilt". Several of us are either reading them or just finished them and a book discussion would be attractive. Both have helped me understand what's going on far more than anything else I've read.
