Ilham Anas shot to fame when he dressed up in a suit and tie and posed as Barack Obama.

Ilham Anas is an Indonesian photographer. The above commercial that he landed thanks to his resemblance to Obama is in Tagalog though. Hearing all this talk about people threatening to assassinate Obama, I'm thinking maybe Barack Obama should hire Anas to come over to the U.S. and be his decoy. However, here's the thing about body doubles. Doesn't the use of them mean that we value one person's life over another?

The price for being a guinea pig for a pres would come with a pretty hefty pay check I would think. Let's not spread the wealth there.

I may be biased (not a huge fan of Obama) but I'm not a supporter of body doubles. That's like saying "look I'm better than you!" I understand cases where it may be necessary, but I don't think that Obama's at that point yet. As far as I have heard, there have been no attempts on his life, at least none that came even close to being successful, so he's in no immediate danger.

The only time when I would consider it plausible is if he was in immediate danger and he was the only hope for the country's survival. But the way our country is set up, one man is never the only hope for America, there is always someone else who can take his place and run the country. In fact, there are many someones who are never all gathered together at once.

He could make quite a living, though, with his resemblence to the current US President! He looks a lot like Obama, maybe a bit skinnier though.

I believe he's properly protected and I doubt seriously he'd put another human at risk to save himself. If Ilham came forward and said he wanted to do this, I would still hope the President would refuse him.

What happened to all men are created equal. Just keep him where he is and make money as an impostor....they can make good money. Maybe it's a long lost brother since Obama is also from Indonesia.
