Should Obama have by-passed Congress to unconstitutionally give amnesty and work permits to 800,000 illegal aliens?

And it isn't the first time he has done something like this, for last year he gave illegals de facto amnesty by issuing an executive order directing Homeland Security and the U.S. Border Patrol to stop deporting illegal aliens, plus he issued 300,000 work permits to illegal aliens. See:

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/warning-obama-issues-ex...

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/is-it-fair-that-obama-i...

Factor in also the fact that Obama has OUTSOURCED millions of jobs to China, Brazil, Finland, etc. Plus also outsourced over 3 million other jobs RIGHT UNDER OUR VERY NOSES by issuing that many work visas to foreigners.

Yes, indeed, Obama has made good his promise to "create jobs." But surely you didn't think he meant that the jobs he would create would go to the over 20 million of our own out-of-work citizens, did you?

Congressman Steve King of Iowa is taking court action to rule Obama's unconstitutional outrage as it is; namely: UNCONSTITUTIONAL. See:

http://godfatherpolitics.com/5726/iowas-congressman-king-chal...

Please ask your own fed reps to join in with Congressman King on that.

Obama has just erased all doubts we may have had about him being STUPID. Tell me, what sense does it make to cater to the 30% of the voters who are pro-illegals, while offending the 70% of the voters OPPOSED to illegal aliens?

I really think you and persons like you need to take a closer look at the issue. The situation with jobs and the illegal aliens in question is not anything like what you suggest with your post. If anybody wants the jobs you try and put in question, most of them are easily obtainable jobs, so long as you can hack the long hours, low pay, the jobs offer. Deport all of the illegals (they've been unsucessful at that for decades, and it not going to change much for creating the jobs this country needs.

Sounds good enough, don't it. Problem is it does concern people that have lived and worked here their whole lives. That statement had more clout about why we went to war in Iraq, where were the statements then. I don't doubt most who would agree with the statement above were waving flags with patriotic spirit a number of times, so long as it was a republican that made a decision.

How bout if Reagan made a simular decision about immigration?

The initial move into Iraq was the right move. After that, almost all the wrong decisions were made. Somewhere in GW Bushs' records or the white house archives is a letter from me admonoshing Bush for both his immigration and Iraq policies. As for Reagan's mistake, he pardoned 2.7 million illegal immigrants and trusted that the other side would live up to its end of the bargain and start enforcing immigration laws. He was a fool to think that would ever last.

Your initial comment struck me as a very broad generalization that could be applied to any issue, and very well argued for both sides of most issues.

What Reagan did does demonstrate a very old issue with similar remedies. I don't agree with what Obama did, but for different reason than many. I don't disagree with Obama's reasoning, I do disagree with how he did. I feel most commenting on this question are just riding the Obama Hate wagon, that bothers me.

I can appreciate the fact your motivated enough to write our President expressing your views, no doubt you were able to express those views in professional manor worth consideration. Peace to you, have a good day.

Thanks. I do tend to over simplify sometimes. I'm only a second generation citizen myself. My wife was not born here. So I do think immigration is a good thing. But we still need laws that are taken seriously. I'm all for changing through due process but, like you, I do not like the pick and choose method of law enforcement.

I feel Obama has the right idea, I don't agree with how he went about it. In most the cases of the individuals to be considered in this debate, letting them continue their lives here in the States with opportunity to gain citizenship I believe the right thing to do.

The reason he did it was to undercut Marco Rubio (Republican - Florida)'s bill to have a system for non-criminal immigrants to approach citizenship. Of course, Obama fears Rubio as a potential running mate to Romney. So, instead of giving Rubio a (constitutionally ALLOWED because Congress would do it) bi-partisan win that he could take to the Romney ticket and to the Nation, Obama illegally shut Rubio off the Romney ticket by denying him that sort of win.

First, prove illegal's actually have VOTED, that means pull a lever, punch a card, etc Not just that an illegal has Registered to Vote (Big difference) and you win afew points.
Then prove " provided you prove the latter" that so called fraudulent votes by illegals has been a factor in any political race, then maybe you'll have a valid case for your blog..

Other wise its just as dumb as the rest..

As for the Constitutionality of it, that's debatable depending on who you ask and how they lean... We'll see what happens if its challenged untll that happens its all speculation.

Obama’s Immigration Policy Shift Was Legal, But Was It Proper?
"In an interview with me just now, Mark Shurtleff, Utah’s conservative Republican attorney general, dismissed those objections, arguing the move was perfectly within Obama’s powers, good law enforcement policy, and even a “conservative” solution."

“This is clearly within the president’s power,” Shurtleff said. “I was pleased when the president announced it

We don't have the resources to deport all illegals and we're never going to deport all of them, deal with it...

Many families are mixed legal and illegal so the ones that are legal will vote for anyone who offers amnesty. If we enforce immigration laws then illegal immigrants will self deport. I'm all for work permits and legal immigration but the fact that this problem was ignored by many in both parites until the problem became "too big to handle" and now we are told to "deal with it because it's too big to handle" really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

one thing is that Crime pays in the US now. as we seen where the illegals got 4.1 billion back in fraud tax returns and the goverment dont want to prosecute them. and if you are here illegally dont worry we will give you amnesty or whatever you need, dont worry about trying to be legal, no need to. if you need welfare or whatever just ask and have a baby here illegally, and the sky is the limit. i dont see why impeachment is not being done to obama, but our goverment is just sitting back saying you cant do that, well show him he cant do it. impeach him. no wonder the politicans dont want to have voters ID then the illegals couldnt vote as easy or use someone elses name or dead names. what a great country it is if you are illegal. and the mexican president dictates our president on what to do, go to mexico and violate the immigration law and see what happens, you go to jail. but here you get rewarded with whatever
