BP oil disaster site this weekend. The Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
What do both of those things have in common? Neither one will see President Barack Obama.
While even critics say a president deserves some time off, they question Obamat's agenda for this particular weekend in visiting Chicago.
Pete Hegseth, director of the conservative Vets for Freedom, told Fox News, he doesn't want to "extrapolate too much," but questioned why a war-time president would not pencil in that ceremony.
"It doesn't mean he doesn't care, but I think it is a reflection of priorities," he said. "We're still at war ... and he's not called out to the carpet on that."
Vice President Biden will be in Arlington for the wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Philip Molfese, a Chicago-based Democratic political consultant, also told Fox News, that the president is in constant communication with people related to the oil spill. The president plans to visit the Gulf coast Friday before returning to his home state.

Mordecai Jones 2010/05/28 22:17:10I think the president should

The families of the fallen should not be placed in danger by a lightning and thunderstorm. I believe those soldiers that are burried there would agree with the Presidents decision to asked them to return to the cars and buses.
Obama went to each of the buses and talked to the families of the fallen.
will even donate a fishing pole for him to use.( by the way we should tell him the the fish are biting and that its really a fully stocked fish pond and not molten lava.)
All who agree ,Hold up your Right hand!.....
Isn't it amazing how pathetically short the memories of these Obama-haters are?
get hundreds of millions of dollars in salaries and stock options (even if they run the company into the ground). The President isn't compensated in any way near what the position and responsibility are actually worth.
Give it a rest.
So you couldn't have voted for President Obama, WHO CARES?
Thank you PA. for giving President Obama all those electorial votes.
GW Bush NEVER went to Arlington on Memorial day in 8 years in office.
The only president to go to Arlington every memorial day while in office was President Bill Clinton.
Take a close look at whose in bed with BP - Pelosi. Isn't it time we all stop playing party politics and take back the country. Throw the bums out.
the governor of Louisiana declared an emergency and asked the Bush regime for help,
how Bush stayed on vacation and even flew out to Arizona on Air Force One to cut birthday cake with John McCain, ignoring the calls form the governor?
That was Bush's response to the hurricane and you complain about Obama?
Speaking about being in bed? Remember Bush's Interior Secretary, Gale Norton?
She was hired by Royal Dutch Shell after leaving the Bush cabinet.
Boy, she must have really been in bed, huh?
And the Minerals Management Service part of the Interior Department?
Total corruption under Bush and Norton with drugs and prostitution and
endless gifts to government people. MMS even went so far as to allow
the oil drillers to write their own reports in pencil and then the MMS people would trace over them in ink and submit them as true documents.
Of hand I'd say that Bush and Norton were directly responsible for this disaster
since they exercised no oversight of the oil drilling industry but let them do
any damned thing they pleased.
Republican administrations=disaster.
Those two men did not thank our vets and pay their respects to the brave men and women that gave their lives for freedom every day of their miserable lives on 8 of the 12 times they could have done so.
soldiers who died in Bush's reelection war did not die for this country.
They died for Bush and for the neocon agenda of the "permanent
Republican majority."
Bush and Cheney and that traitorous bunch squandered the lives of these brave people
for reasons other than defending America. A crying shame. Bush and Cheney should pay
a price for that treason, but never will.
And, Philip Molfese, really expects America to actually believe the president is in constant communication with people related to the oil spill? And, he thinks it's OK after over a month of oil flowing from the well the president finally plans to visit the Gulf coast Friday? This is pathetic.
