No public official should ever say anything like that, period. Bigotry comes in all shapes, sizes and colors, and this guy is a good example of that fact. If I were a black American, I'd be upset to know that I and my peers are being publicly "represented" by the likes of Barry, Sharpton, Jackson, etc. We need American businesses, period. Marion Barry has been a source of amusement and entertainment for years in the Wash DC area. I do not believe that there is anyone who takes him seriously.

Since he chose the rode that was wider (easier and more acceptable to his constituents), I'm sure that "those Asians" want nothing to do with him. How dare he? Let me say something. I know quite a few Asians and I've worked for some. Many belong to business organizations. These organizations network with other groups and many times, that is how they get loans and investors to back their businesses. This is not something that others couldn't do if they wanted to. It takes effort, organization and resolve. Don't knock them for this. The community could learn from them. They are also great about finding a niche and filling it because they have sure done this in our area and we're not complaining. Marion Barry, it's time for you to retire and stop making a mockery of Washington, D.C. We should be able to be proud of our nation's capitol.
