Should Lt. Col. Shalom Eisner (who struck a Danish anti-Israel activist) have been removed from his command by the IDF?

By now, the video of Lt. Col Eisner of the IDF striking a Danish anarchist activist has gone viral all over the Internet.

Before any investigation could take place, events verified, or even Eisner's version of events heard, the entire Israeli military and political hierarchy condemned him. Within a day of that, he was removed from command and severely punished.

Regardless of the specific details of the incident, which believe it or not looks like a minor occurrence in the day to day battles between the IDF and hostile groups, it is clear Eisner was quickly ousted due to political reasons without proper due course.

An incident must be judged in context, and on its own merits alone, and not due to PR or political considerations. The men and women in uniform who put their lives at risk to defend Israel from annihilation by a surrounding hostile Arab world deserve to know their commanders "have their back", and will not throw them to the wolves for political expediency. They let judges, politicians and celebs (actors, music artists, athletes) get away with crap all the time ! It's sickening to me! Lt.Col. Because unfortunately he is the leader of the free world. It's not like talking ("obsessing") about the Kardachians... this is actually important... If he cannot handle being responsible for an immense amount of things around the world, he should not be president of the US. That's stating the obvious, he should not be manager of a post office station, much less President of the US... but you get you who you vote for.

When Bush was president, he was apparently responsible for storms (Katrina) in LA... Reagan was blamed for AIDS....pretty sure it goes both ways...

The next war is coming soon. It is PC madness for the IDF to remove this officer.
Will his absence cause un-necessary deaths during the coming war?
Israel needs all the patriotic, trained and experienced officers it can get.
I hope he got a good hit on that Danish anti-semite.

Israel has to walk a fine line, and I think Israeli leadership teetered a bit and fell off it with this one. The removal was purely political, and I don't think it will seriously harm Lt. Col Eisner's long-term career all that much as it all shakes out (governments change, and historically, the Israeli government has leaned toward giving its military a wee tad of slack in the assertion department more often than not--we'll just have to wait and see how it goes, long term). The "severe" punishment was not really all that severe (relieved of his command, and can't receive a promotion for the next 2 years), but was certainly excessive, IMO. In over-reacting to appease a public image that seems more and more false, as more information comes out, the Israeli government has done itself and its citizens more harm than good, IMO.

Actually I have not heard about the issue but it does not interest me as I do not covet to control or be about the issues of any nation but my own, America USA. I do not wish to offend anyone but in religious belief I do not consider the UN established Israel to be any form of the Israel my God has held in my person that is Hebrew by faith and act with a single atom of holy salt upon the issue of David and I do not even recognize him as a legitimate King of Israel because of Ruth who was of a tribe God forbade to enter the Holy Tent ever.In my sight their is no Israel save this one in me and that one on the other side of the earth seems to make itself be hated among its enemies through its oppressions and actions it has against them. I do not want my nation to waste its resources on them,
I do favor them in the 6 day war but overall I consider it a nation that shames God and brings his wrath to full unbridled fury on their own hands and heads.
I hope we can be friends but I do not change my viewpoint and it is known from my days in college classes. I have had this view from about 10 years old.

They are there as humanitarians trying to help the Palestinians suffering in the brutal occupation of their land. Visitors can only enter Israel with proper papers. The Israeli govt allows volunteers to come with ISM.
Visitors cannot even enter Palestinian territory without approval of the Israeli govt bc the Israelis control all the borders into Palestine.

"Humanitarians?" You mean "Protesters." Call them what they are. Don't try to play "word games" with me. I know better than that! If they were "Humanitarians," they'd be with the "Red Cross" or the "Red Crescent." The Danish male protester that got arrested has the "checkerboard shawl" that is characteristic of what Male Palestinian protesters wear. I'm not that dense to see what's happening. So don't tell me that they're "Humanitarians." Be honest about what they're truly are. I don't "sugar-coat" what i say! Sugar Coat

www.gush-shalom.org - site of a Jewish Israeli Zionist, originally part of the Irgun gang. He speaks out against atrocities Israelis commit against the indigenous population. Play your word games - there was an entire community of people living on that land for centuries before the Ashkenazi Jews emigrated there & took over the land.

See Jewish Israeli historian Shlomo Sands book "The Invention of the Jewish People". He explains what many historians understand - there is no evidence of any "mass exodus" of the Jewish ppl from Biblical Israel. Those people converted to Islam, and the modern day Palestinians are their descendants.

Zionism is a travesty against the Jewish people. Zionism seeks to break the religious hold on people, to separate people from God's commands.

Arabs need to learn to live in peace with Israel.

God is a Zionist. Read the Bible and see that.

As for the USS Liberty... that was an act of war...
by America against Israel. Spying and passing on military intelligence
in time of war is the act of an enemy, not a friend.
That is what the Liberty was doing and that is why it was bombed.
America owes Israel an apology for that one.
Liberty cost the lives of Israeli soldiers in Sinai as info was passed
from Liberty to the British to Egypt.

The only invented people in this matter is the "palestinians". There is genetic evidence directly contradicting everything you stated.. but that doesn't matter, either way the Jewish people did not start calling themselves Jews a couple of decades ago for CNN purposes.

The Arabs you call palestinians can't even say the Latin term, as they have no letter "P" in Arabic and they end up saying Falestin (similar to Asians changing "R"s to "L"s.

IF they went around calling themselves Arabs, people would wonder why the arabs need a 34th (or so) country inside the tiny borders of the only Jewish country in the world. Palestinians sells much better, as it implies the nesesity a "Palestine". The term is a Roman term for Israel in Latin after they conquered it and it never had any meaning to anyone living here, Jew or Arab. But the term stuck in Europe (though they changed the name of Jerusalem to, but that did not stick due to the many mentions of Jerusalem in Christianity.

The people you call palestinians, are most often Jordanian citizens (or Egyptians if in Gaza), Arab, Muslims, and members of their specific tribes and clans... they never refer to themselves as palestinian, that is just for the cameras. They are indistinguishable from other Arabs living across the river in Jordan.

Arafat himself, the symbol of palestinian "struggle" was born in Cairo... as Egyptian as one can get.

It's called the Abrahamic Covenant(Genesis 15:8). Issued by the Lord 3925 years ago. From the Red Sea to the Euphrates River, all that land was promised to the Jewish people by God Almighty and nothing or no one can undo what was done then. Wring your hands, jump up and down, stomp your feet, cry, scream bloody murder, refer websites tell you have no voice left, but it changes nothing because the Abrahamic Covenant trumps ALL. PERIOD.

I suggest you read my article.. ISM activists are not allowed into Israel since they are enemies of the state coming not as visitors but with the sole purpose of undermining Israel's security. They enter by fraud, false documents, sneaking in, etc.

Of course Israel controls her borders, and decides who may come in and who can't like every other country on earth.

There is no such thing as 'palestinian' land in Israel.

Why is there a Jews only road?
Because the Arab terrorists (your friends) attack and kill Jewish civilians
whenever they get the chance. It's an anti-terrorist measure.

The Arabs lived on the land for centuries, before the white European Ashkenazi Jews started emigrating to Palestine during the early 1900s. The newcomer Zionists began massacring the indigenous Arabs and began a program of ethnic cleansing (don't forgot all those Zionist terrorist attacks against the British who were governing Palestine).

Zionism does NOT equal Judaism http://www.jewsnotzionists.or...

    http://zope.gush-shalom.org/h...

http://www.jewsnotzionists.org - great historical information about the great sages of Judaism being vehemently against creation of the State of Israel bc creating such a state is against the Torah

Also note what historians are saying: that the original Jews never had a "mass exodus" from Biblical Israel, but that they converted to Islam. Therefore the present-day Palestinians are the rightful heirs to the land as descendants to the original Jewish residents.
