Should Little League Accept Strip Club Donation?

Lennox Little League in Southern California fell on tough times lately, in desperate need of financial assistance. But not this desperate. According to the Daily Breeze, a local strip club called Jet Strip offered the league $1,200 as a charitable donation. It wouldn't be nearly enough to save the 300-player league on its own, but the strip club thought it would help.

The league turned it down. Lennox Little League head Roberto Aguirre told KTLA, "It was a shocker to us. We do not want the money from the strip club. I think, for us, we do need the money, but we will go some other avenue." Before announcing that they would be declining the donation, Aguirre explained that it wouldn't have solved the problem anyway. He explained, "It feels good to be from Lennox when people do stuff like that. At the same time, the future is very scary for us, because [a donation] is a one-time deal." Do you think the Little League should have accepted the strip club donation -- or is it inappropriate?

    .... What IDIOTS.

Who cares who it's from. It's not like theyre offering the kids lap dances and a topless pole dance performance.

Ever heard the phrase "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"??

When you're desperate, you're desperate. I'd be more concerned about THRIVING than worrying about their REPUTATION.

And for the record, strippers might be for adults only, but that doesn't make them dirty sluts who open their legs for anyone. Anyone who thinks that needs a hard punch between the eyes for such shameful thoughts.
Strippers are hard working women who put up with a lot of bull from staunch "holier than thou" individuals.

    SHOW THEM SOME RESPECT.

you think allowing the legau to fail is the right decision. not sure why libs hate money given to them from businesses. i know you want the governemnt to handf them the money but that is why america is failing

i never said for the little league to fail is the right decision. that's what you think i said so think whatever you want but it is not learn to read. but for it to be sponsored by a strip club is inappropriate.. They are little kids. and by the way i am NOT a liberal or a democrat i do not belong to any party thank you very much!!!

you proved you are a lib by your own comments. seeing you are the one that said the league should not take the money thus saying you want to league to fail. sorry libby no matter what party you beleong to you are a lib according to your own posts. you never once showed how it was inappropiate for a business to support local little league. but as i already said you want the money to come from uncle obama

Uh yeah. It's money. It's different but do they think of how many dollar bills they get back in change that went through strip clubs and prostitutes even? If a strip club was going to sponsor a student and they offered me a donation hell yes I'd take it.

In todays economy money is tight and alot of communities are doing away with little league all together because they just can't afford it. And thats a shame that those little kids can't experience the teamwork environment that alot of us did back when, I still remember my little leauge days with fondness.
So i don't see why a strip club can't sponcer a little league team, it's not like there is nudity on the uniformes, just a name. And the strip clubs can afford top notch equipment for the kids.

Their dads are probably the ones who paid out in the first place, and in ten years they'll be doing the same. Sandra Fluke would approve.

It would have helped the kids and it is not as if they had to pick up the dollars that fell out of the g-strings to get the money.

1 in 5 strippers is a uni student trying to pay of her debt and get through life, so for them to donate money is kind of a really big deal. Especially considering that they take a lot of crap from people for doing what they do to get by, they're not the sort of people you'd think would donate money as most are desperate for money themselves.

... are you kidding me? When you need money, you need money. That's a generous donation and they turned it down. It's not like it's from illegal drug dealers and prostitutes, but a STRIP CLUB.

    unamused pony gif

Fine, LET them go bankrupt. LET the League burn out and die. The kids don't deserve it, but the adults who turned it down certainly do.

Even though I'd rather not see 300 little hearts broken because their sports team becomes unavailable, I agree with that last part. The kids will be SO proud of their team when they learn they turned down that much money.
(there needs to be a font for when I'm using sarcasm, lol)

Of course I agree with your top portion too; I'm sick of strippers being looked down upon just because they give naked shows for entertainment. I pity the fools who can't recognize a woman who works hard for her money.

If I read the story correctly, it's a donation they're offering and not a sponsorship. The team cashes the check and the money mingles with all the other money in their account, and that's all.

Thank you, Lady. It's a kid's little league team. Seems it would defeat the point, going to any lengths, using any means whatsoever to keep them going. And it's a horrible lesson for them, money made by degrading women. These are the things you say no to.

A Donation is a donation. Regardless where it came from. If they were really that embarrassed about the source, they could have called it an anonymous donation. -_-

But of course, that is just my opinion about accepting the donation. I wouldn't have wanted MY Son playing on a team sponsored by an adult entertainment establishment like that. If I can't take my kids into the business that sponsors their team, then I wouldn't want their team linked to the establishment. There are other options for the team and I applaud the leaders of the team for their decision. Just sayin'. GO USA!!
