Should Little League Accept Strip Club Donation?

Lennox Little League in Southern California fell on tough times lately, in desperate need of financial assistance. But not this desperate. According to the Daily Breeze, a local strip club called Jet Strip offered the league $1,200 as a charitable donation. It wouldn't be nearly enough to save the 300-player league on its own, but the strip club thought it would help.

The league turned it down. Lennox Little League head Roberto Aguirre told KTLA, "It was a shocker to us. We do not want the money from the strip club. I think, for us, we do need the money, but we will go some other avenue." Before announcing that they would be declining the donation, Aguirre explained that it wouldn't have solved the problem anyway. He explained, "It feels good to be from Lennox when people do stuff like that. At the same time, the future is very scary for us, because [a donation] is a one-time deal." Do you think the Little League should have accepted the strip club donation -- or is it inappropriate?

    .... What IDIOTS.

Who cares who it's from. It's not like theyre offering the kids lap dances and a topless pole dance performance.

Ever heard the phrase "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"??

When you're desperate, you're desperate. I'd be more concerned about THRIVING than worrying about their REPUTATION.

And for the record, strippers might be for adults only, but that doesn't make them dirty sluts who open their legs for anyone. Anyone who thinks that needs a hard punch between the eyes for such shameful thoughts.
Strippers are hard working women who put up with a lot of bull from staunch "holier than thou" individuals.

    SHOW THEM SOME RESPECT.

The Little League should definitely accept the donation. It's not like the strippers are going to perform for the kids!

This is similar to folks raising a stink because former porn star Sasha Gray went to an elementary school and read to children. If all these people pitching a bitch about had been volunteering to come in and read to the kids in the first place, then maybe, and only then could they have grounds to complain. Usually a charitable donation is just that, a donation. I'm seeing sponsorship even mentioned nowhere. Take the money.

They can approve of the money donation without approving the activity.

Their money is as good as any one else who donates. Money is money and the kids need it for equiptment and uniforms.

This is stupid. The club should have mailed a money order anonymously made out to the baseball team if they truly wanted to help them. This is not the first time a strip club did this and yes it got attention and yes it was declined....or was this just about seeking publicity...

Alright normally I would have said yes, and a part of me thinks that its the right option. The problem is that if they DID accept and their reputation suffered parents would be pulling out their kids and donations from other sources would go down. Sure it would help in the short run, in the long run not so much. Most of the time when people accept donations (or ads) from groups that society thinks in controversial they do so because they support their cause (this goes from religion to homosexuality). Seems that the coach was weighing the pros and cons of the decision. If he did not have any personal attachment to the group donating and they proved controversial then I suppose he thought that the better buisness decision was to turn it down.

It was a buisiness decision and he decided not to risk the reputation of the group. Sure I think that strippers deserve some respect but in this case I can't fault him for thinking of the buisiness.

I can understand why the offer was declined. In Australia we have a word for that attitude (Wowserism) However I think they should have taken it. I am willing to bet that if a soft drink company or the local junk food venue came up with a donation it would be gratefully accepted. So what is more inappropriate encourage unhealthy eating habits or a strip club that they can’t even go to. I doubt if the donation would convert the kids into strippers. Lets get real.

We do not need advertisements or acknowledgements from "adult entertainment" on our youngsters. The youth are already corrupted by a society that strikes at the young in varying ways from having modesty thrown out the window with little girls dressing more and more adult-like. Also, let's encourage fathers to cheat on their wives by advertising a strip club on their kids back! Are you all for real voting yes on this?

If i lived in the area i would not donate to the legaue. if they need money then they should accept the donation. it came from legal source, but the league thought making itself a social media poll would be better than helping out the ids

As well meaning as they are, Adult entertainment clubs should not be directly supporting family oriented activities. If they want to support little league and simulate activities. There are ways to support these types of activities without overtly advertising on the backs of our youths.
