Am generally against the death penalty but in this case it is just idiotic. The boy was probably in second heaven and to kill his teacher would cause far more serious problems than the original sex.

I have no idea whether this is true and would be surprised if it were. If it is true, then the Australian legal system will run its course, and this may be the outcome.

Assuming it's not true, in general I don't think molestation should be a capital crime unless there are "special circumstances" or "depravity" or some specific issues in a given case that call for harsher than usual penalties.
