That's a silly question. Seeing the word God on money isn't making me nor anyone else all of a sudden go to church. Since it's not inspiring me, why is it despairing to others?

Frankly, I truly don't care one way or the other ... it serves no useful purpose ... I really don't even take note of it.

If Christians are going to use it as some kind of "proof" that the USA is a "Christian Nation" and vote in Christian extremists politicians to pass laws to promote that case, then yes..., it should be removed. Otherwise, I have no objection to it.

the god that it is refering to is a child killing nutter according to the texts he was birthed from, why would you put your trust into someone or something like that?

Yes--for two reasons: 1) Much to our detriment we don't trust God, and 2) placing God on the currency was tantamount to a congressional endorsement (establishment) of theism.

That, and I'm fairly certain that God would not want to be associated with something so worthless as our currency.

It violates the 1st Amendment by endorsing the concept of a deity.

I am agnostic and it doesn't bother me that it is there. "In God We Trust" was first put on U.S. Money in 1864 on the two-cent piece.

True, but it was also done by a Christian extremist treasurer that defied his orders and illegally put it there.

Because not every American believes in God and the government should not be endorsing ANY religion.

Whether you choose to believe or not does not negate the fact that God exists.

The fact that you chose to believe in God, doesn't mean that he exists either.

Then we continue to live life in the manner which we believe. I choose to follow a way that offers more meaning to our existence than chance, and in the end when the grip of death finally gains his prize (that being the soul) Then the importance of Christ’s victory over death, at the cross will once again defeat that old hater of man’s soul, Death. But then the judgment, I believe I will stand before the Creator and make account of my life. Again the significant cross comes into play, where the blood of Christ cleanses my sin and guilt, allowing me to stand blameless before God.
But if I am wrong, and there is no God, what has it cost me? Seventy years of doing things my way. But if God exist, I will be on the glorious side of death ready to face my judgment. So it is a crap shoot, a fifty, fifty, you cannot fault one for wanting the best for his fellow man.

Despite being non-Christian, it's innocuous enough to me. To me, it's a pleasant, though antiquated, reminder of where we came from as a country. I don't see it as a reflection of the US or of me and my beliefs. I don't mind it at all.

No this country was not founded by ANY religion, It was founded by NATURES god which is not religion. Our fathers despise religion, and only when under pressure did they slowly accept such things to be added to the Pledge of allegiance and currency where it does not belong.
