SodaHead Politics 2008/05/22 21:17:29
Yes! It's undemocratic to discount Florida's votes.
No! Florida violated Democratic party rules, and the penalty should be sustained.

What Hillary, Dean, the governor and everyone else thinks isn't important. The only thing that counts is that Florida voters have the right to have their votes counted. Whoever heard of a president being elected by 2 states less than there are on the flag?

Is this even serious? No she shouldn't sue for votes! News Flash guys: Both candidates knew before the primaries even happened that Florida would not count. They BOTH said they respected the party's ruling. And yet, when Hillary began to lose, she realized that counting Florida was her last hope. That's the only reason she wants Florida counted.

The point is now moot. But it would have been nice for the DNC to not tell the candidates not to boycott a primary if they decide after the fact to count it for the candidate who ignored their warnings and guessed they would cave later on the issue.

sue for what? She agreed on the rules before she ran? Only thing that is changed is that she is losing. Get over it.

"It's clear this election they are having is not going to count for anything."
-Hillary Clinton just prior to the unauthorized preemptive "primaries" of Florida and Michigan.

"Wahhhh! Wahhhhh! But you must count them now because I need them, and I am entitled, and rules should change in the middle of the game when they are working against me.!" - Hillary 5 months later.

I WAS one of th eFIRST to contribute to Hillary. But; when she and Bill sadly stated to reveal their true characters in November by starting the mudslinging; I was profoundly disappointed. I wrote them and said so. Of course I doubt they ever get any emails lke that pased on to them. I have argued with my son in Arizona; sticking up for Bill and Hillary and now they have shown us what true sociopathic narcissitic Machiavellian liars they are. Can't anyone see how she will say or do ANYTHING to get her way? I am glad I found out what she is really like. It saddens me and sickens me. And the longer they keep it up the more disgusted I've become. After her off the cuff remark concerning RFK's demise I wouldn't put it past her to have Obama assissinated!

I'm just tired of Florida always being the scapegoat for the Democrats and Republicans. They always use Florida as the state to either win or lose one Party or another. The voters in Florida have been used and abused again and again and no one seems to want to help them. It is time to help Florida get out of these rut they have put Florida in and let the people in Florida count as one of the 50 USA states of America!!! The people of Florida are not at fault for the mess up in the primary, so let the Committee eat the mess up and let the peoples vote count!!!"WE THE PEOPLE..."

It is undemocratic to ignore votes. Every vote should count. I think the taking away of votes by both the DNC and RNC shows that it is about party power not power to the people. Don't give me this line about party rules. Does a bunch of career political hacks at the national office know more about what is good for the state parties than the state leaderships? That is what both the DNC and RNC are saying, "you didn't vote when we wanted you to vote - you can't vote until after my home state votes. So that means your vote doesn't count." Does that remind you of kindergarden?

I think it's pointless for her to sue. The Florida delegats will be seated and perhaps even in the fashion that they were voted. The MI votes is a different story though. I don't agree with how the DNC handled the problem, but it wasn't the fault of the DNC that Florida's delegates were stripped. Florida should just do their best to not elect Republicans in the next election.

Funny that she won the popular vote but won't be the Democratic candidate. She polls better than Obama vs. McCain. I think the Democrats are making a mistake if they don't make her their candidate. The votes of people in Puerto Rico will count, but not the votes of Florida? Ridiculous. The Democratic Party should be ashamed.

The Florida voters, just like any other state had no say in when their primary date was going to be. There has to be something unconstitutional about this situation. Florida should do a lot of re-thinking about who gets to be in ANY politically held office in that state, and throw out the garbage.

Hell, Gore went to court to get only 3 districts recounted in Fla - he only lost because he didn't want a full recount. She should because she wants the entire state without qualifiers and they should count. What the heck was Dean thinking - 2 less states in union - Obama has "57 states with two more to go" and Dean has 48 - Damn strange to me.

I honestly think if she hadn't agreed with these votes not being counted from the beginning it would be different. As it is, she agreed that this should be done and this ended up being the first in a long sting of rules she wanted to change mid game in order to claim vistory.
