Why?
Birthers accuse Obama of not being an American citizen, without a shred of proof.
And Romney must have a pretty good reason not to show more of his income tax returns.
His father, George Romney, the first Presidential candidate to show tax returns, showed 12 (yes, TWELVE years worth of tax returns) when he ran for office.
And every candidate since then has shown more than 1 year's worth (Romney has only shown for 2010).
So what are you hiding, Mittens?
The fact that you didn't pay any income tax, or the fact that you paid less than the average American worker?
Either way, it doesn't look good, and either way, your goose is cooked!
Should Harry Reid be censured by the Senate for accusing Mitt Romney of Tax evasion without a shred of proof?

Harry Reid has made a stunning accusation that Mitt Romney didn't pay any taxes for an entire decade. What is so stunning about this, is he made these criminal accusations without a tiny bit of proof. When asked to back up this unsubstantiated claim he had this to say, :
"I don't think the burden should be on me," he said. "The burden should be on him. He's the one I've alleged has not paid any taxes. Why didn't he release his tax returns?"
Now I don't pretend to be an expert, but isn't the burden of proof of a crime on the person making the charges? What if when District Attorney's went to court prosecuting criminals , they just simply said," Its your job to show your innocent, not my job to prove your guilty? " They would be laughed out of court.

It should be noted that Mr. Romney has never been charged with tax evasion. He is a high profile person, and it is highly unlikely that he just "slipped through the cracks". How about if Mr. Reid, stops making unfounded accusations with no proof and puts his money where his mouth is. If he has the evidence he should show it. Is this how it now works? We can just accuse people with no proof? Look at how they came after MIchele Bachman for accusing Huma Abedeen of ties with the Muslim Brotherhood. Why have they remained silent as one of their own accuses a Presidential nominee of a federal offense with NO EVIDENCE?
I SAY HARRY REID IS A WAR CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE PROSECUTED.
I don't need to prove it. He has to prove he isn't.

UnusualSuspect 2012/08/02 20:07:46I think this....

Why do you think he made the accusation there an not on some TV or radio show?
But since the Republicans will never see Romney's tax returns, they will never get the chance.
Further, If they'd pull their collective heads out of their posterior orfices and get to work doing what they are supposed to be doing our country would be a lot better off.
Tax avoidance is not illegal, but the way he's done it shines a negative light on Mr Romney's ethics.
At least, Reid (unlike Fox News et al) was more specific about his alleged source than some nebulous “some people say.” He specified that it was a contact at Bain. If true, that would be a pretty authoritative source, someone who’d be in a position to know.
That said, it was still hearsay. Reid should not have said it. But it wasn’t an accusation of any crime. It was basically gossip.
It should be noted that it’s quite possible for Romney to have actually paid no taxes and yet not have committed outright tax evasion. He may simply have taken advantage of enough legal tax loopholes, shelters, deductions, etc. to bring his tax burden down to zero.
That’s called “tax avoidance” and is perfectly legal. It would thus not be criminal per se, but it still wouldn't be something that he’d want the populace to know during an election year when he’s trying to become the Chief Executive of the nation.
But Reid is at least as Mormon as Romney is, yet he appears to be putting party and politics above helping a fellow Mormon achieve the highest elected office in the land! This would seem to defuse the conspiracy concerns, thus lessening a fear that many might have that would keep them from voting for Romney.
Of course, the truly paranoid might think that the LDS GAs ordered Reid to do this to make it look like there is no LDS conspiracy, thus helping Romney get elected.
then he minght enjoy the view from there !
then how about the fact tim geithner didnt pay taxes for how long ??
the dems are obviously running scared ,,there plan is back firing on them !
How about how Romney’s campaign (with his approval: “I’m Mitt Romney and I approve this message.”) When called on it, he said, “Well, Obama really did say those words.”
Yes, and the Holy Bible (KJV) really does say this actual four-word phrase, intact and uninterrupted: “…there is no God….”
— a full DOZEN times!!
