Some schools place limits on how much skin a girl can show -- how short her skirt is, etc. -- but Calvert High School in Maryland is trying to flesh out how that applies to one student's unique take on the dress code. Warren Evans, a bisexual student at Calvert High, was suspended for wearing a skirt, and he says it doesn't violate the school's dress code.
Evans told NBC Washington, "I don't think [it violated the dress code]. Why not? It didn’t say anywhere in the code of conduct or dress code that says boys can't dress like girls ... Some people aren't tolerant of that type of thing." Officials have not commented publicly on the situation, but say the dress code is not gender-specific. Some parents have sided with the school, arguing that boys in dresses would be a distraction. Do you think guys should be allowed to wear skirts during school hours?

When I was in school I was picked on for a variety of reasons. My hair was too long, I was too short, my shoes weren't cool enough, I was the new kid, etcetera.
I wager boys wearing skirts and heels is going to result in many ass kickings.
gracious43 is attempting to point out the dangers of establishing a protected class of citizen.
You're just to naive and lacking in foresight to see the problem.

It seems you've recanted your proclamation that there are no protected classes.
This is why I always tag sarcastic comments with [sarcasm].

There is no evidence that homosexuality is immute and innate; and there is no evidence that religion cannot be backed by scientific discovery.
If you believe you have any documentation for any of these claims, please submit them for review.
Here is a site, however, with sourced and checked scientific information that more than strongly suggests that homosexuality is biological and not a choice.
You're right, science hasn't yet discovered "the gay gene", but it at least has answers that suggest it is, in fact, biological and innate. That's a lot more than can be said for religion.
You are just repeating yourself. But repeating yourself is not hard evidence. I can repeat myself too.
It is his 'civic right' to dress as he pleases OUTWITH school hours but the school has the RIGHT to decide what constitutes a reasonable dress code for their pupils when the pupils are in attendance there. JUST as by the same token, the Military, the Police, banks, etc, etc and countless other organisations all have the RIGHT to determine what constitutes reasonable and appropriate garb for their employees-when, of course, THEY are at THEIR place of employment or carrying out their duties. That is purely a matter of commonsense, nothing more.
