Some schools place limits on how much skin a girl can show -- how short her skirt is, etc. -- but Calvert High School in Maryland is trying to flesh out how that applies to one student's unique take on the dress code. Warren Evans, a bisexual student at Calvert High, was suspended for wearing a skirt, and he says it doesn't violate the school's dress code.

Evans told NBC Washington, "I don't think [it violated the dress code]. Why not? It didn’t say anywhere in the code of conduct or dress code that says boys can't dress like girls ... Some people aren't tolerant of that type of thing." Officials have not commented publicly on the situation, but say the dress code is not gender-specific. Some parents have sided with the school, arguing that boys in dresses would be a distraction. Do you think guys should be allowed to wear skirts during school hours?

Yes, if the other males are allowed to bitch slap them into the straight zone. Ok, on a serious note: if you're homosexual than be yourself. In the early years of life kids go through the hormone change etc. kids in school are still on the road to find themselves. Easily influenced are some. Dress codes are needed. If you're male, dress as a male. If you're female, dress as a female. Bunch of lil candy asses is what our society has become. Crying for attention.

I agree to an extent.
Dress attire is unaffordable for many. Then again, Dickies are quality and affordable...Just some basic rules that once were written and abided by would solve the problem. Past that point long ago I suppose.

'They make my skin crawl' is not an argument. Sex in general makes my skin crawl. Does that mean you shouldn't be allowed to be a sexual person?

'Informed consent' is usually where the line is drawn. once that is impossible, it's generally considered unethical to have sex with someone.

This is a difference between sex, sexuality and gender. In most people the three align with society's definition. In many cases there is a disconnect and people are born different. There is no choice here. You are what you are and everyone should be accepted. As long as no one else in hurt we should live and let live.

No, the numbers were always about the same. It just that back then society was so cruel they hide in their closets. Media is only identifying an injustice that must be corrected. Owen, it just doesn't matter. Stop the hate here and now. It's not a choice in any way. People are who they are and as long as their actions do not hurt me or anyone else it's none of my business. You just don't get it. It's not a choice. This conversation is going no where. Until you realize that being gay or lesbian isn't a choice your opinion will remain the same. When did you make the choice to be hetrosexual? You didn't. Was that a choice? Sex is physical and easily seen but gender and sexuality are determined by the development of the brain during the nine month in the womb.
