I actually had a drug addict break in and he had a gun but I did not and no one died and I don't have to live with the knowledge that I killed someone. This happened in St. Paul, Mn 40 years ago and the guy fired at several cars driving by and they called the police who took over 2 hours to respond. In the end I talked him out of his gun. The gun by the way belonged to his father who was a drunk.

You are fortunate.
There are many many more home invasions that are not so lucky.
Just because people have guns in their homes does not mean they are itching to use them.
If you had a gun would you have been less likely to talk to him?
I don't think so, most people give them the chance, and if they show the intruder their weapon, most cases they run without a fight.

People that have actually developed their opinions based on research of actual facts and history, and not just from television Westerns, know how much better off we'd actually be.

Unlike what you "learned" from "Gunsmoke", where Marshal Matt Dillon killed a few people every week; there were fewer killings in the 5 year heart of Dodge City's "WILDEST" years . . . than Chicago has each weekend.

Please do a little research, so you don't sound quite so stupid to those who actually know what they are talking about.
