I like the idea, but liberals would hate it and it would certainly be a decisive issue in the conservative party as well, so the idea would totally fail.

Owning a gun is half the battle toward reducing crime. The other half? Abolishing capital punishment. If I leave California, it'll be to move to North Dakota. They got it right.

i SUPPOSE THERE IS A 457 BY NOW, BUT THE 357 IS ESSENTIALLY A FANCY .38 iT DOES TAKE .38 ROUNDS. OF THE GROUP MY CHOICE IS THE LITTLE SNUB NOSE .38 ,,,,,, IT;S TARGET ING IS A LITTLE OFF DUE TO THE BARREL, BUT WHEN YOU TRAIN WELL AND YOUR AIM IS MOSTLY ACCURATE IT IS THE FIREARM OF CHOICE.

I agree I always packed a 4" 38 as my off duty weapon and with practice it has no problem hitting what you need it to. More people have been killed with a .22L than the big caliber weapons. Cheap rounds, cheap weapons, bullets that float inside the body.

Try installing an adjustable trigger spring and reducing the trigger pressure. My old Remington M1913a1 improved a great deal when the trigger squeeze got to just under 3 pounds. Even the wife seldom drifts beyond the 9 ring. She seldom gets fewer that 4 x rings.

You just have to find your sweet spot.

It should be an American CHOICE. But if it's mandated I have to buy one ,I prefer a .45 ACP. I'm not comfortable with a 9mm.

Fewer rounds, but the extra mass allows you to shoot all day without getting a sore hand. Besides, you knock the target down and don't need additional rounds to put it away. Volume is no replacement for marksmanship.

The military is apparently wising up a little, too. I hear they are in the process of converting from a 5.56 to a 6.5 mm round. They went to 3-round bursts instead of full auto a long while back. Both accuracy and carry are greatly improved.
