That's a great start. Add picture ID and a little indelible ink on the old index finger would go a little further in the right direction.

The last time Florida purged their rolls, they took off between 30,000 and 50,000 eligible voters. Most were minorities who would have voted for Al Gore. This was shortly before Bush won by 600 votes. Gore would have won, and we almost certainly would not have experienced the disaster of the Iraq war. Florida politicans proved they could not be trusted to protect eligible voters. Why should they be trusted this time?

If Gore had won his home state, where they knew him best, there would have been no questions about Florida - but he didn't because they did know him best!

If had won his home state is irrelevant, because he did win Florida. I'll admit at the time I was Bush supporter and tuned out the evidence of dubious vote-counting standards, but in retrospect, Al Gore should have been elected President.

but he did not, just that simple - Gore did not win Florida - every organization who counted the votes after all the dust settled got the same conclusion - Gore lost (3 different counts and he lost all 3) He lost, he lost, he lost - get over it

The Palm Beach Post's review of ballot - had the SC not stopped the ruling - had Gore up 784 votes in the end. http://www.guardian.co.uk/wor...

Republicans begged recount boards to use different standards and then sued saying that recount boards were using non-uniform standards.

Can only go by facts - facts are that all recounts after the election (AP being one of those) said unequivocally that Gore lost. I do not doubt that he gained some votes in the areas he wanted to cherry pick for recount but recounts do not work that way - all or none, They machine recounted twice before that jerks law suits and he lost. Three independent groups filed law suits to count the ballots (none of them hoping Bush won, in fact quite the opposite), they won the right to do it, did and Gore lost every time. When a press guy told Cheney in front of many others; he said, "Yeah, I know, we won again."

Time to bury that horse out back, it is a dead one

It's a silly question, but some people actually think it's okay. It's against the law! Can we go to any country and vote in their elections? NO! Common sense, come on people!
