Most of them have the brains of garden snails and the political wisdom of 8-year-olds. Any one who listens to celebrities about politics is too stupid to vote.

Not sure how to vote as the choices were pretty stupid but all endorsements matter no matter who you are.

They should not endorse political candidates, but that is the reason Obama has been playing house with Beyonce, JZ, and all the other Hollywood stars and wouldn't have a meeting Netanyhu from Israel. The Lord is not happy about that and he will bring his wrath down on these evil corrupt people and they will have to go before the judgement seat and then guess what there is a Hell and if these people don't turn from their wicked way will burn in Hell.

Celebrities should do what they do best they have no business getting involved in politics!!!! Most of them openly go with whatever the trend is to stay popular nomatter their true beliefs!! Not one of them is willing to practice the politics they endorse!!!

Anybody has the right to "ENDORSE" anybody they want to... It is NOT the point... The real question is whether anybody who qualifies to VOTE and takes that RIGHT and RESPONSIBILITY seriously should pay any more attention to a CELEBRITY, than they do anyone ELSE. Of course, then you get into the area of the PRESS, The PUNDITS, The Various Political Professors from the Halls of the Ivy Towers(on both sides) and you practically have to have a polySCI degree to follow ANY Candidates' Double-Talk Yourself...At least pick the experts in whom you usually believe,to try to get and keep it straight. It is not in the VARIOUS Movie Star's, Rock Singer's or Celebrity of the Week's Job Description , to know anymore about Foreign Policy, Economics, or any of the other increasingly complicated ISSUES facing our WORLD, today, and our Nation's place in it....Enlist the expertise of the people who have made these issues their life's work ,to understand... and try to get a grasp of how you BELIEVE... and VOTE with YOUR OWN SENSE of MORALITY and YOUR OWN HEART as much as possible... That is my opinion of what is RIGHT! DAMN IT...(oh -and PLEASE- SKIP the FREAKING CAMPAIGN ADS... They will NOT TELL you ANYTHING of VALUE AT ALL)

Endorsements are like a**holes every one has one and they all stink.

They can have their opinions like every one but it just doesn't matter.

If you vote for who a celebatard tells you to, then you deserved all the pain and suffering you get.

whats a celebrity? who are they? People who make fake movies killing people, so other dumb people pay money to see them do it on screen.! What a sad way to exist. And then to want to be a Star on the Hollywood Boardwalk. How do people think that is a goal or prize in life? Pathetic. No wonder the majority of them do drugs, and die of overdose.

The definition of a celebrity is that it is a person who is famous for being famous, like the idiot Donald Trump. I am mortified to find that, in a disagreement with the leader of Scotland's nationalists, Trump was right about wind turbines. They're loathsome, and won't ever replace filthy carbon. Scotland used to have good nuclear power.

So why are people listening to Clint Eastwood . . . and the chair, I wonder? Especially actors. They are accustomed to reading scripts and playing roles. Who knows what lurks behind that. Often, a fee of some sort.

Clint Eastwood acctually told it how he felt it was instead of doing the popular thing. Celebs risk being black balled for stating their true beliefs so they just follow what ever is cool or trendy at that moment only to regret it later!!!

I disagree with the answers provided but this is the closest to the one I would choose, if a celebrity has a high level of education, political experience, or is a long standing experienced advocate they have the right and obligation to do so to convince other to their cause that's how democracy works. If people weigh the celebrities endorsement with a grain of salt then this can be beneficial.
  • JackoClubs Gothpirate 2012/09/18 09:32:50

Celebrities are just that. They have no special insights. Politicians, however, think the sheep who are the celebrities' fans are going to run out and vote the way they are told, so celebrities will always be part of the political scene.

To be fair, there are celebrities who are known to have actual thought processes. If one of them makes a point I hadn't thought about, I listen.

Oh, I agree. I'll listen to opinions and information from pretty much any source but I don't think an endorsement by anyone would change my mind or affect my decision. Even smart people screw up and I'd rather screw it up myself

Other than being talented (sing, act, dance, etc.) a celebrity endoresement is not worth the time. And even if they were very qualified to speak about a product, say Ben Stein (www.benstein.com/bio.html) I might listen to it. Hey, I didn't buy the dry eyes product.
  • Cat 2012/09/18 03:21:35
