The day I have to start putting my actual name and address somewhere to post, is the day I stop posting.
My safety and privacy outweighs my pleasure in posting.

The anonymity of the Internet is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, it's a valuable tool for privacy and security, and allows you to speak your mind without having to worry about it leaking into your "real life" too much. On the other hand, as we've clearly seen on sites like 4chan and YouTube, it sometimes coaxes out the worst in people, leading to hateful and disturbing content. New York lawmakers want to sheath that double-edged sword once and for all.
According to the Consumerist, legislation was drafted earlier this year that suggests, "A web site administrator upon request shall remove any comments posted on his or her web site by an anonymous poster unless such anonymous posted agrees to attach his or her name to the post and confirms that his or her IP address, legal name, and home address are accurate." However, opponents worry it will turn into a "heckler's veto" and completely ruin open speech on the Internet. Do you think anonymous comments should be allowed?

"One you must think I'm new if you think I would give that info. You do notice my answer was yes anonymity should be allowed."
These are both two separate quotes from YOU. Is being anonymous online good or bad? It's hard to tell from you with the conflicting views that you're giving here. I don't know if you realize it or not but using a screen name like SmartSassyMom or crazytexan is the same as using anonymous as a screen name Using anonymous as your screen name is less creative but it's certainly no less brave. And there's nothing wrong with it. I only gave the smart ass comment after reading your first quote that I copy-pasted in the top of this post. it's just kind of strange to read "However, I do think if you aren't man or woman enough to use your name rather than anonymous, you're just a coward hiding behind a screen" Posted by somebody not using their name. Unless you just can't figure out that Smart sassy texan mom is anonymous unless your name really is Smartsassytexanmom or whatever your made up screen name is this week. Oh well I don't know why I'm wasting my time on this I'm pretty sure everything I'm saying will go right over your head.
Let the Cyberbullies go, they really are not hurting anyone, grow some skin and stop reading their comments.
The internet is a giant poster board, people put all kinds of things on it, just stay to your usual section and you'll be fine.
How about stopping spammers? How about stopping the people creating viruses for the sole purpose of destruction? Deal with them - they are a real issue.
Anonymity is not.
However, I will not write anything that I will not sign my real name too, and I do not respect the people or the opinions of people who choose to remain anonymous.
If you're too ashamed to sign your name to something you write, then don't write it in the first place.
Yes it should be allowed.
cilck on polls on this website before i actually gotten a account
