No way...

I eventually would like to be able to go off grid, or at least be able to get paid by the electric company for them using my solar powered overflow...how I use my energy should be my decision, regardless of where I get my power from. We are paying for it, right? I live in Louisiana, it's like a sauna in the summer. The heat index can get well over 110 degrees on hot, humid days. The elderly and sick can actually die from heat exposure here. Our air conditioners are as important for removing the humidity from the air as they are for keeping us cool.

Should, is a big NO! Obama and his radical green friends are working to mak the cost of AC so high that many people will no longer be able to afford it.

Rationing by price inflation.

We Americans are less that 5% or the world's population, but we use 25% of its energy. As the rest of the world rises out of third-world poverty, we can't all live the way Americans do today -- UNLESS we apply technology to the problem of renewable, sustainable energy. So I vote we do just that.

Sustainable energy is a good idea. Just make sure it works before killing off the energy sources that we have now.

Otherwise we lower our standard of living to a third world level for nothing.

We have large populations living in areas where, without air conditioning, millions will die. The elderly and children die first. Read the news; it happens every year. Want your grandmother dead? Your baby? No? Then turn on the air conditioning.

Air conditioned for scrap?

Asking for water or rain.
Fever rises and dry throat.
Air conditioning in the scrap and crying.
The lungs aching, weak muscles and eyes red.
And hydrate lips, kissing fear.
People around the fresh breath of electricity
and the reason you left the state in order.
Air conditioning switched on, soda in the fridge.
The woman at the counter and you embrace it.

and they abide by its reality today.

I lived in a midwestern city located in a river valley that stayed 90 degrees and humid from April through November. My home had no air conditioning and it wasn't safe to keep windows open at night. Whoever proposed this bit of stupidity must live in Maine.

Under Obama if everyone cannot have AC then no one should have it. Or the federal government should guarantee all people that cannot afford AC will get grants or special financial support from taxpayers. To make this happen the government will establish a new csar of cool-air with a staff and regulatory power to impose fees on those already with access to AC.

i live in TX!!! I already live on a budget and I can't be too cool and keep the lawn alive at the same time without going broke...so, no need to ration. I need AC but i keep it at 80 most of the time....it's hot down here.

I did that for twenty years. I lived in TN. And in July it would get to be 120 to 130. I will not do that ever again. I cant be in the heat, and i was saying that people say to get rid of air conditioners, if they do, people would get really sick and die from the heat.

These people are crazy, as even know I live in a place where I almost nobody has AC installed in there house, it seems a little extreme to tell people what they can and cannot do.
