National security and a European court are butting heads this week over the possible release of Abu Qatada, a radical Islamist militant affiliated with al-Qaeda. He has been in and out of prison since 2000, when Jordan sentenced him to life for his involvement in planned tourist bombings, and for his influence on the September 11 hijackers. This week Mr Justice Mitting, Chairman of the Special Immigration Appeals Commission, ruled that he will have to be released on bail in three months if the Home Secretary is still unable to deport him back to Jordan for his sentence.

Obviously, not everyone is happy with the ruling. The Home Office said in a statement, "Qatada should remain in detention, our view has not changed. This is a dangerous man who we believe poses a real threat to our security and who has not changed in his views or attitude to the UK. We have argued for the strictest possible bail conditions to be imposed on Qatada, because this Government will take all necessary measures to protect national security. This is not the end of the road and we are continuing to consider our legal options in response to the European Court's ruling." Do you think Abu Qatada should be released on bail?

Absolutely not! Why do we allow these people to play the system? What do they contribute to society or the world as a whole? They shud be exterminated, some people are beyond the pale and don't deserve to be treated humanely. Why don't the European courts stick their noses out of our business!

We have a lot of "Abu Qatada"s in Saudi Arabia supported by the government which is supported by the US government (don't be shocked it's true) and if you pissed from one Abu Qatada we suffer from millions of Abu Qatadas everyday.

If he has been found guilty of or has been accused of terrorism he should not be released from jail/prison. These terrorists should not be able to game the system--out to create more problems. Plug the loopholes.
