A woman in Ireland has recently died of septicaemia, this could have been prevented if she had been provided the abortion that she requested three times.

The full details can be found here:http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/nov/14/ireland-abor...

So, do you think that the law in Ireland regarding abortion should be changed?

No, the law should remain as it is.

Ireland has a population of about 4.5 million. That is roughly the same population as New Zealand (where abortion is legal).

There were 15,863 abortions performed in New Zealand last year.

While I feel horrible that this woman died because of this tragic medical mistake, I think that one death every few years is a small price to pay to save almost 16 THOUSAND innocent lives every year.

    Thanks for answering =)

From what I can gather, abortion in Ireland is now legal in order to save the life of the mother but not if there is only a risk to her health (I may be wrong about this). So perhaps if it was extended to allow abortion when the mothers health is at risk this woman's life could have been saved.
