Rules are rules, the photos were not cancelled because of her they were cancelled because of the sats testing going on the father has taken it upon himself to make it about his family for yet more publicity for himself. They were simply asked to have simple hairstyles for school as this school is well known for its strict uniform code and hair, discipline etc. If they don like it perhaps hey should have considered another school.

Why would that even be an issues to begin with? It may not be what I would choose for my child...but there is nothing wrong with it.

It was a cute look, and did not violate their dress code--which is a pretty ridiculous dress code in any case. Banning braids of all things???

Yes, if it is against the COD.
No, if there is nothing written against this.

Personally, I feel the government is making everyone accustomed to the oncoming nanny state. Start 'em young. When they're older, they won't complain.

ETA: This occurred in the UK. Already, a nanny state.
EATA: It appears to be a religious school.

She looks cute and it isn't up to the school to decide this. Sounds random. So can girls have pony tails? pigtails? wear barretts?

Actually it is up to the school to decide this. Now, the question is: Who decided this? If it isn't in the little catalog of crap people don't usually read, then why bar her from attending?

    Code of Conduct anyone? Interpretation?

It looks really pretty, and while it may not be a braid, it's still a smart hairdo, and must've taken some effort!
    Poor little girl :(

It's all her hair, it's neat and tidy, and she asked her dad to make her look like a princess, (which he did). I don't see how it breaks any of the dress rules.

If the school didnt allow other hairstyles besides braids they should have stated it within their policy.

It is from The Sun and there are headmasters.. typically in the UK. The second link shows the same headmaster that is mentioned in the article.

I didn't have time to read the srticle, but who made this decision and why are they so unfeeling and dictatorial? I am really against the public school system anyway, but when are we going to take our schools back?! This system is the reason we need to take our country back as well. They are raising YOUR children and indoctinating them against ALL that you hold dear and we continue to tolerate it. WHY?!!!!!
