I do believe U.S. Presidents SHOULD run on their respective records.

However, Obama is now running FROM his record - not on it.

If he remains in office after the 2012 election results, he will be running right back TO it - and then some.

    obama running

Unless you're Obama and you're record is one of failure than you having nothing else to run on.

The question Americans should ask themselves is, "Am I better off today than I was 4 years ago?"

Yes you should run on your record but OBUMMERS record is pathetic. Has anyone heard him talk about his legacy in the 3 plus years he has been running for reelection?

Each situation should be evaluated on it's own merits don't you think?

President Obama was the first populist internet President and this did not please the White Anglo Saxon Protestant elite at all.. Not only because of his ethnicity, but because he actually believed in taking care of the people...

Given that the WASP's control the purse strings they have been blocking him at every turn, and what's more he is not allowed to point it out himself as it would piss them off further...

The president has had his 'hands tied' so much he is now virtually powerless, having had to trade away everything that he believed, just to ensure every US citizen's health could be cared for... The shame being that even that was an illusion as employers have promised to withdraw private health benefits from employment contracts to ensure that the system is overburdened immediately.

Perhaps if the people could break the stranglehold that Wall Street, the Bankers and the rest of the 1% have on policy in the US then maybe Obama is the best option.

After all "Yes we can" did imply people power and somewhere along the line the people forgot that and left him to fight the dragons on his own...

It would benefit a country that thinks or has any sense. But this country is full of people who vote based on what they are told - or what they think "sounds" good. Too many voters are idiots.

PLEASE let him try to run on his record ! I know there would be those that voted for him even if he said, "I killed the Lindberg baby !". But a few with a brain would probably change their vote.

Why do you like him? I don't know your reasons, but for some, it was a popularity contest and he came out on top. Well, he didn't come on top... on Monica's dress... but, why do you like him. Don't worry, I will not put you down or argue with you, I'm just curious. Trying to get some insight.

    Thanks,

  • Max7 J 2012/05/08 01:57:46

My question is directed towards the post that is asking a question, President Obama is not asking the question. Based on President Obama's record, I have all of the anwers that I need. Based on the Republican party they have made it very easy for me to make a decision as to whom I will support in the up coming election. The Republicans are chasing away their own people, they are fighting among themselves, the record that G.W. Bush left is like a nighmare, and Mitt Romney wants to pick up where Bush left off, I don't think so. Who in their right mind wouldn't want to capture a man that has seized and killed people in our country, not Bush, it's as clear as the nose on my face as to who has a better record.
  • J Max7 2012/05/08 02:11:53
    J
If Bush had made that call, you would have called him a cold-blooded murderer. And if you think that this nation is better off under Obama you are either a racist pig, or an idiot.
  • Max7 J 2012/05/08 02:41:28
    Max7
J for someone 50 years of age, your comment is quite immature. No matter who had been in the White House, I and many others expected Osama Bin Laden to know that America would not condone such behavior. Not for our president to say that he had no interest in capturing the terrorist. Whatever I think about Bush or President Obama it has nothing to do with being a "racist pig, or an idiot." People who throw names around like this, and make such juvenile accusations are lacking in intelligence and have no concept of equality and the great American way. J you have a right to your opinion, as do I and thousands of other Americans, so that agree with you and many who don't.

Before their 1st term, you vote on their platform, policy statements, and track record in prior positions. Once they've served, I go by the Three "R's" - Results, Realities and their Record, each of which matter greatly.

sure, his contract is up for renewal....let us discuss what he has "accomplished" over the last few years.

    sounds pretty sane to me.....

we can discuss his golf scores
    shooting hoops
    his vacations
the multiple times he has acted stupidly

why we might even have a chuckle becuase he is treated at Bethesda NAVAL Hospital and he didnt even know what a Corpsman was.....
