If you've just decided to get a flu shot, finding a place that gives them out may be harder than you thought. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says there's a shortage of vaccines due to the high demand this year.

Flu season started about a month earlier than usual this year and has now spread in 47 states. Plus, 24 of those states have reported very high levels of the disease. And in some regions, the flu is mixing with a stomach bug and an outbreak of whooping cough. Does the shortage of flu vaccines worry you? Or are you confident that you'll be fine?

NEWS.YAHOO.COM reports:
It's not too late to get vaccinated against this season's particularly nasty flu outbreak, but you may have some trouble finding a flu shot. On a call Friday to update reporters on the status of the outbreak, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden said that a high demand for the flu vaccine has created some "spot shortages" of the flu shot as people flood pharmacies and doctors' offices to get immunized.

If I get the flu, I'm going to stay in bed, drink lots of fluids, take meds to alleviate the symptoms and try to not infect anyone else. I surely won't be getting a flu shot!!

Of course I am not worried. That's what my immune system is for. I cannot wrap my brain around the propaganda-fueled, frantic desire to allow someone with minimal medical training to perform an invasive medical procedure on you as they inject a cocktail of death into you because you believe a stranger has your best interests in mind. Naive much? Also, would you take an unmarked pill? If not, WHY would you allow someone to inject you with an unknown concoction? Makes no sense. I'll take a fever over that any day.

I've never had the flu before. You be surprised how something as simple as washing your hands and not touching your face after touching public things goes.

No. I'm young and healthy, so I'm almost positive that if I got the flu I'd be just fine. I never get flu shots and I manage to survive each year, lol.

I use to get flu shots. After the shot I'd get severely ill for a month. I don't get them anymore. The result is getting the flu every 2-5 years and it lasts for 2-3 days. You can have my flu shot, I don't want it.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've had the flu, and I'm 54. I think I've had maybe 2 or 3 flu shots my entire life, if that many. It's been 3 or 4 years since I had anything...bronchitis, upper respiratory, cold, whatever.

I take a multi-vitamin and focus on foods with a nice spread of vitamins, minerals, protein, and antioxidants. Hence the boring "no serious health threat" life I lead. Just now reading up on dietary anti-inflammatory foods. Don't know if that will become a focus or not. Interesting though because so many health issues boil down to inflammation.

Already got my shot, I work at a hospital and everyday scared parents come in here, asking where can I get the shot, but the problem is they are already sick, that will make it worse..... If you are already sick don't get the shot wait about 2 weeks, because if you get the shot while you are sick , it will not make you feel better it will make you feel worse. California is the only state so far that is not red..... The line is very long today WOW.

I'm not worried because I don't infect myself with the government flu shot. Here's the dirty little secret the vaccine industry doesn’t want you to know: Most people getting the flu right now are the same people who were vaccinated with the flu shot. These "so-called" vaccines are designed for the purpose of serving corporate interests rather than public health. The junk they put inside these vaccines (metals, chemicals, etc) also suppress the immune system, and that’s the primary purpose of vaccines - to actually cause an epidemic so that more people rush out to buy more vaccines. The whole point is to sell more vaccines, not to improve public health. So STOP getting flu shots, people, you're just INCREASING your vulnerability to the flu and spreading it to others.
