EXCERPTS:

State Representative Carl Seel, who introduced the bill, was joined by Sheriff Joe Arpaio, State Senator Lori Klein, and others in support of the bill. Important new information was revealed during the news conference including a request by Sheriff Joe Arpaio to the current head of the Selective Service Board to investigate the criminal forgery committed in the case of Barack Obama’s Selective Service registration. In addition, Carl Seel reveals some of the resistance that other Republicans are creating to stop the bill from even heading to a vote.

The bill will require Barack Obama, or any candidate seeking to be on the Arizona ballot, to certify eligibility for the office they are seeking. This will essentially require Barack Obama to certify his eligibility if he wants to be on the ballot this year in Arizona. This could potentially be a game-changing piece of legislation.

The law says a man MUST register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. He was Born August 4, 1961. He turned 18 on Aug. 4, 1979.

I read in several of the sites talking about this that the Selective Service # is a number from a much later date. The document # (represented by the letter "A" is a date indicating that document was created in 2008, NOT 1980. Supposedly, the postal stamp that was used on the document was one that was retired in 1970. There's a lot more. Read it here. http://www.debbieschlussel.co...

I can fully understand Arizona viewpoint because of the simple fact the man declared war on the state. So the question of a citizen challenging any candidate to qualifications makes sense not necessarily Obama but another nightmare which comes down the line where he somehow because of money, influence or power has a questionable background.

    This is interesting news.

The thing is, even if they push this through, being a citizen of the US is NOT enough to qualify to be POTUS. He or she must qualify under the Natural Born Clause of Constitution which goes a step further than just being born here. Based on that alone, Obama is ineligible. Why haven't we heard one peep from anyone in government about that?

There are couple of other things that I think are important. First, why hasn't the state been verifying candidate identities and making sure the person running for office is eligible? That makes no sense to me--that without this bill anyone can place their name on the ballot and not prove who they are and that they are eligible.

Second, they should have kept the Tea Party out of this. You cannot say on the one hand that this is a non-partisan bill and on the other have the Tea Party at your press conference. That in itself will create more controversy.

Lastly, this Nancy Barto--the AZ state representative who has put up resistance to the bill by creating new rules out of thin air--originates from Chicago. Imagine that.

I ask the same thing about not hearing a peep daily. The way it works if I understand it correctly is that it is up to the parties to Vet. And I guess the states just blindly accept that the vetting is legitimate.(ugh) Pelosi even filled out the form in Hawaii differently - I wish I had time to go dig for it but there is a very good article I posted about this a really long time ago in my blogs somewhere and it goes into very specific details. Is it possible the TEA party are the only ones who would show up? Perhaps they are included because Sheriff Joe decided to do this investigation initially due to the urging of hundreds of TEA party citizens who got together to request it of him. On March 31 he is giving another press conference and whether they will be there or not all of the press is invited. Yep quite a "coincidence" about Barto... ha!

I think you're right about the vetting process and I suppose that is the heart of the problem. The states should be vetting these candidates, not the parties. Conflict of interest if you ask me.

I suppose its possible that the Tea party members are the only ones that showed up. I got the impression that they wanted to speak in order to put pressure on AZ government officials. You know, strength in numbers kind of thing. But still, I think it would have been best to have them stay out of it. That way, it looks truly non-partisan and legit.

Btw, thanks for the info. I enjoy your polls. Looking forward to seeing your next one on or after March 31!

The Republicans don't want this bill passed????? What's going on here. We need to KNOW who this man really is! And we need to know it because we have to save this planet from destructive forces. There I've said it! Sounds like a something out of sci-fi movie but it's real, it's happening now and FOR ABSOLUTE SURE, it's not going to make us stronger!

Just a question for now. Is this the same bill on candidate's verification which passed last year and which Gov Brewer then vetoed?
