Clarke DID NOT say forget 911. As has been pointed out time and time again in the Milwaukee area, his reference was "if you're facing a perp (real time), dialing 911 may not be your best option". And he's right on. This is not the first time Clarke has spoken his mind. Following up, the sheriff in adjacent Waukesha County had an excellent article in his local newspaper Sunday issue supporting the right of gun ownership.

Individuals need to take personal responsibility for their own safety and security. Not only are the police physically incapable of preventing a crime against any individual, they are also not obligated to protect you, the individual; their responsibility is to policing society after the crime is committed.

right u are - there are just not enough cops to post at every intersection and block - personal protection is and HAS ALWAYS been the only common sense way to handle disorder and personal bodily threat - thus the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.

Sheriff David Clarke from Milwaukee County, made my day. Ironically, Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., has the largest socialist progressive populations in the state of Wisconsin next to Madison, Dane County.

Sheriffs in surounding counties here are saying pretty much the same thing. Several have also stated that they WON'T be "enforcing" Obama & Feinsteins so called "assault" weapons ban (if it should pass). It's nice when local law enforcement understands just exactly what the 2nd amendment means.

The police are there to enforce laws, not protect you. They try to protect you - but they don't have to try.

To enforce a law, that law has to be broken. Your murderer can only be prosecuted after he has murdered you.

It didn't work out for them because the white man had more and better guns. Let that be a lesson for the descendants of both peoples to hang on to their weapons, and be wary of anyone who tries to limit what kinds of weapon technology one can own.

He's right. It's no diferent than having a first aid kit and knowing CPR, or having a blanket a shovel and some food if you drive through a blizzard Good common sense. You won't need a cop if they are there. You need a gun when they're not.

That way in my County too. Our Sheriff is working on getting it approved that CCW will be legal in the Courthouse here in our county. We don't play games here. People know better than to break into peoples homes. Heard of suicide by cop? Well here you can go suicide by cop or home invasion. Both will work out the same.

One of my neighbors down the street was murdered last year in his very own house. We live in a really nice neighborhood. He was taking a shower at broad daylight and the burglar thought there was no one at home. I set my alarm now, when I take a shower. I have my shotgun right next to my bed. If someone enters my house, I will not be saying hello!!!!!!!!

I enjoy them. Have several myself. My favorite to shoot though, specially with someone that has never shot a shotgun... 10g double barrel. Oh the joys of seeing them shoot something like that for the first time lol Fun stuff.

Strapped to the side of my bed is a Moss 18.5" Maverick 88, no extended tube though. 5 round. It is loaded with ddupleks Hexolit 32 rounds ( http://ddupleks.com/index.php... ) Laser and light attachment for the wife. Click, point, shoot. Red dot tells you all you need to know.

Alright......looks like my shotgun, I don't have the handle, I like that!!!! Our backup piece is "The Judge" It is one scary gun....I hope I never have to use that. I am jealous though....I want a laser too!!!! I am glad to hear that you and your wife are well prepared. Guns use to scare me, but my husband got me hooked. I recently got my permit to carry and my choice of gun is 9mm! I am quite ready to save someone if I have too. It has become a mad world out there! Those criminals need to get the word, that if they mess with some of us.....they are going to get shot!!!!!

I've got a judge as well. They are a little rough to shoot, for sure go out and practice with it. My wife has tried several times and does not feel comfortable shooting it. We use finger print lock boxes, hers contains a 380 with a built in laser, mine has a Desert Eagle that I have it loaded with pellet rounds. Double tap from that and yeah, not a pretty sight.

I CC daily. Typically I have a 40 with me, but during the summer when I'm wearing just jeans and a t-shirt I sometimes drop down to a .380 as it is a lot easier to conceal.

Ok... we will look into that shotgun ammo! It sounds pretty powerful and so do your other guns. It can be complicated at times with all the different type of guns, but really truthfully speaking...I just love to shoot our 22's!!!! The ammo is so much cheaper....
