Seventh Grader Says Bloodlines of 42 of 43 U.S. Presidents Link Back to King John of England: Believable or Baloney?

A 7th grader made national news this week when her genealogy report revealed that 42 of the 43 U.S. presidents are descendants of King John Lackland of England. (Our 8th President Martin Van Buren is the only one not related.)

BridgeAnne d'Avignon was supposed to trace her own genealogy for the assignment, but doing so sparked her interest and she ended up spending months researching 500,000 names before coming to this amazing discovery. I actually went to the same school she attends and did that same project -- it's still in my closet somewhere -- so now I'm thinking I should have put more effort into it... But what do you guys think? Are her findings believable?

NYDAILYNEWS.COM reports:
A young California girl made the ultimate presidential family tree and found that all of the U.S. commander-in-chiefs except for one share an ancestor - King John of England.

Maybe , but I still need to see King John's long form birth certificate.
    And his college records.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that anyone with a minimum amount of English blood in him was related to King John.

Not only that, but England still runs our show, despite what most American 'voters' would think.

The pilgrims were religious puritans who were kicked out of here for having strict beliefs. Also criminals had no room for in the prisons. This is all I know... it's very possible they could have blood links.

Hell 0.5% of all males alive today are related to Genghis Khan that is more then 16 million descendants in the modern population. That breaks down to 1:200 males has the same Mongolian genetic Patriarch.

If one pays attention to the politicians in America, particularly on the east coast, one can see quite plainly that mostly the same families have been running the show for our entire history.
This is not some shocking revelation.

    I hadn't read about that.
...probably won't either... cuz I really don't care.
The only reason I know he's related to Cheney is because the media made such a huge deal out of it.

It would be a very interesting piece of history that this was proven correct, but such an undertaking would be monumental to check the DNA of the ones they could and to use a person alive today who is related to the others.

It is amazing how inter-related we are. I discovered that my wife and I had the same "great times 13 grandparents".
King John Lackland had 14 children (9 with mistresses) and would have had millions of descendents after 900 years.

It is quite possible, the common ancestor is from the 1200s and we are including cousins of his etc. How many other people have him as a common ancestor? I would bet a lot.

Au Contraire'.. In Medevial times.. English Lords often claimed the right of first night with newly married brides among the people they ruled over ( the Irish and the Scots )....

The right of the first night--also known as jus primae noctis (law of the first night), droit du seigneur (the lord's right), etc.--has been the subject of locker-room humor and a fair amount of scholarly debate for centuries. Voltaire condemned it in 1762... it's a plot device in Beaumarchais,, The Marriage of Figaro and the Movie starring Charlton Heston,, The War Lord.. It was also featured in Mel Gibson's Braveheart..

Various old histories refer to it.

So.. EVEN among the people who would have nothing to do with the English,, there would STILL be decendents..

One night?Hardly a program for spreading your seed, very few would be affected, you would have to have DNA testing to prove theory to begin with.

It was called one night.. It actually lasted as long as the lord didn't get tired of them..It was actually part of the English Doctrine to POPULATE the landscape with English Blood..

Their policies are reflected in the famous saying..

" The ONLY thing wrong with Scotland is that there are too many Scots there.."..

Although I though Good King John Lackland only had Gay sons? Still in all interesting. In the movie Breaveheart, William Wallace knocked up the French princess Isabelle. anyway King John Lackland was a true type A personality and most Presidents were type A personalities

If you didn't already know, the POTUS has been a game of musical chairs among the elites and RH- blood type. Ron Paul is not one of these gang members. That's why he is being fought tooth&Nail; from becoming President no matter how badly Americans try and make him President. KEEP FIGHTING...! MAKE THEM HAVE TO KILL RON PAUL TO KEEP HIM OUT OF OFFICE...!
