SENATE WARNS EMPLOYEES TO AVOID THE DRUDGE REPORT

SENATE WARNS EMPLOYEES TO AVOID THE DRUDGE REPORT
Tue Mar 09 2010 08:53:37 ET

Just as the healthcare drama in the capitol reaches a grand finale, congressional officials are warning employees to avoid the DRUDGE REPORT!

The Senate's Committee on Environment and Public Works issued an urgent email late Monday claiming the DRUDGE REPORT is 'responsible for the many viruses popping up throughout the Senate.'

The committee ordered hill staff: 'Try to avoid' the DRUDGE REPORT 'for now'.

On Monday DRUDGE served over 29 million pages with NOT ONE email complaint received about 'pop ups', or the site serving 'viruses'.

The site was seen 149,967 times since March 1st from users at senate.gov and 244,347 times at house.gov. [10,825 visits from the White House, eop.gov]

The Systems Administrator may want to continue taking her antibiotic until the prescription runs out.

I love how libs think the Drudgereport is some right wing conservamedia site when in fact 98% of what he posts are just links to other news articles... may of which are mainstream.... This is the first thing I have seen him write in months.

I e-mailed the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and asked them if they did this. I e-mailed both, Majority and Minority. I'll post there response.

LMAO This administration certainly is fear based. Are they afraid of being caught committing another crime?

The Drudge Report is a biased opinion piece, not a reliable news source. But to lie about viruses? How odd. I wonder if this story is legit? Or if the email actually came from an official source? This whole thing just appears to be fishy.

The Drudge Report takes articles from just about every source of news that you can find. Both Liberal and Conservative. You can see from the Daily Kos to Ann Coulter, Huffington Post to Washington Times. What he puts in his headlines may be biased toward the right, but all the information is available.

My point is that I am not convinced of the accuracy of the article which was posted. I get emails all the time warning about viruses, and most of them are BS.

And if you DO want accurate and unbiased reporting, if you're looking for it in the Drudge report then you're looking in the wrong place.

Give me a clue on the right place that is not included in the Drudge Report.

Who cares about unbiased reporting. You have your Chris Mathews who says racist stuff about Obama while at the same time getting chills up his leg and that Olberman guy who loves to insult women wishing violence upon them, we have Drudge who just links us to news articles, sits back, and grins because his headlines make people like you furious. I love it too :)

I get much of my news from The Daily Show. There isn't much else. Comedians are more reliable than pundits and wannabes.

Stewart can be very funny, but if you are going to downgrade all other news sites and say this is the gosple without even looking at them, your opinion is suspect.

I never said The Daily Show was gospel, simply that it's more reliable than the sources which try to present themselves as serious and unbiased.

Ummm, dude, when was the last time you went to the Drudge. This si the first thing I have seen Matt Drudge write in MONTHS. 99% of his site links to other news stories, dont kill the messenger. I would say a majority of his links go to mainstream media sites like ABC, MSNBC, New York Times, etc....
