Secretary Hillary Clinton Not Attending Democratic Convention: Busy or Avoiding Obama?

No cabinet member should be too busy for the President. They are all bunch of hypocrites.

The spin will be that she has other engagements probably regarding National Security, etc. that requires her attention!!?? Nuts, she and Bill won't publicly admit it but they abhor Obama I may be wrong but I believe a lot of Democrats abhor Obama and don't know how to get rid of him?) They stepped in it when they hooked up with him. Well, she won't be there but the Muslims will! Our liberal, progressive Democratic Party as per usual.

Actually neither. Throughout history the Secretary of State, traditionally, does not attend the convention. The Sec. of State is a NON partisan position. Kind of like you won't see members of the Supreme Court stand to applaud during State of the Union address. This question must have come from someone on your staff that either wants to stir things up, or just didn't do any research before posing the question. No spin!

I don't know. Maybe she's given it up. I was glad that Mr. Clinton looked healthier than I had seen him look on photos and television even just a couple years ago. I would never vote for Hilary, I just don't like her.

Yeah, I heard that too. Not just vegetarian but "vegan". I was thinking back on that old SNL skit about him where he was jogging and then stopped to "campaign" in a McDonald's. Then started to explain foreign policy be eating everyone's food. It was so funny.

She despises Obama. She knows the DNC will be full of NO hope & NO change. Can't blame her. It would be too hard for her to say things she disagrees with.

In her only four years as Secretary of State, she is the most traveled out of anyone in the position in American history. So yes, she is very busy.

Hillary may be trying to avoid setting up a situation in which the Democrats could attempt to "draft" her to replace Obama on the ticket since it's becoming increasingly apparent that Obama has little chance to win this election. In the first section of the eye-opening book , _The Amateur_, Edward Klein recounts a story about a social gathering at the Clinton's home in which a number of friends witnessed an argument between Hillary and Bill in which he was trying to convince her to run for president in 2012. She was not receptive to this idea, although Chelsea also tried to persuade her to challenge Obama. Klein reported that Bill Clinton ended the dispute with the pronouncement that Obama is "such an amateur," apparently offering Klein the title for his book, which by the way is extremely informative about Obama, the "amateur." I highly recommend the book. I think it's possible that Hillary's absence from the convention may be a defense against possible pressure to challenge Obama.

The Secretary of State is not a partisan position and it is considered unseemly for them to participate in political Conventions. But of course you Cons don't understand that tradition and are only looking to stir up trouble and find one more reason to trash Obama.

They do NOT. That responsibility lies with the Attorney General. The Secretary of State from neither party takes a partisan role in ANY convention.

The states are not relevant. This is the Secretary of State for the United States , not some local party hack. You may want to do a little research on the differences before you make inaccurate assumptions on a public forum.

There's an awful lot going on in the world and she is pretty busy as Secretary of State.

Who can blame her. He is the plague, the worse president in HISTORY.
