Even the men sworn to protect the nation's highest office can fall short. President Obama has called for a thorough investigation of allegations that eleven Secret Service agents and five military service members were "cavorting with prostitutes" while preparing for the President's visit in Cartagena, Colombia, The Associated Press reports.

Obama announced, "What happened here in Colombia is being investigated by the director of the Secret Service. I expect that investigation to be thorough and I expect it to be rigorous ... If it turns out that some of the allegations that have been made in the press are confirmed, then of course I'll be angry." Do you think this secret service scandal is shocking -- or are there bad seeds in every profession?

Partying, whores, massive spending and LOADS of debt to be passed on to the next office holder.

My rose coloured glasses are long ago destroyed, we had clergy molesting children, so heck yes there are bad seeds in every bunch. And I am just seeing a trend here with the office in the white house, there just seems to be so many investigations going on it seems everything the President touches....including his staff. Boy he promised change and we are getting it.

But. Prostitution is legal in Columbia in designated tolerance zones. That's the only reason I can figure the prostitute called the cops. So it is unclear if any laws were broken. If the people involved were single and off the clock and didn't break any laws then it's hard to tell where this is going. Perhaps there is an agency policy on the issue that applies to their off-the-clock time also. I don't know. That's probably true for the secrete service since shady things make agents venerable to blackmail.

If you go to Vegas you usually gamble even if gambling is illegal in your home state. So it's sort-of a "when in Rome deal". Right now I'm just laughing at the whole thing.
