Recent poll numbers show that John McCain is steadily losing ground to Barack Obama, most importantly in the crucial swing states. The presidential election will be held on November 4, 2008, which means there is not much time left for the two senators to campaign. Did McCain take advantage of this opportunity to convince uncertain voters to choose him?

First off the vast majority of polls are over sampling Democrats due to false new registration numbers (i.e. Mickey Mouse). Secondly these polls are almost always wrong but only in favor of Democrats. There are only two polls that are even close to being legitimate, Rasmussen and Gallup (Most of the rest are total frauds or BS)

McCain is an angry, negative Neanderthal. He demonstrated extremely poor judgement in choosing Sarah Palin to be his running mate. While he is not so stupid as George W. Bush, an Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower he certainly is NOT! By his body language, his demeanor and facial contortions, he expresses constant contempt and disdain for the vast majority of our citizens, especially if they are of the middle and working classes.

He blew his chance, I agree with you. But didn't we mostly know he would?

The only words I did not like in your post were "laugh" and "fascism"..

I lived in France during the ascension to power of Hitler, WW II and the german occupation. Believe me, fascism is no laughing matter.. I am sure you did not mean to laugh there. But I could not help answering anyway, because there are still fascist people in our world, and we must never forget there are.

He never had a chance of not blowing it because he is too angry; too busy trying to please voters to get their vote; he says whatever he thinks will swing voters to him; his policies are all over the place; and WHY would any voter want the Republican party back in the White House and Congress?? Haven't they done enough; they have practically turned our country into a third world country. It wouldn't take much to completely disable America at this point and that is precisely what John McCain would do; not necessarily on purpose, but he doesn't have the right ideas, policies, and advisers to do anything else. He tries to make us afraid of something new! Well; John, we want and need something NEW. We have seen what the Republicans can do; all of which is now coming to the surface and we are horrified! Every day unearths another lie that the Republicans had hoped to keep burried.

I don't believe in the "gap" in the polls. All one has to do is look back at the California primary and other states. The day before the California Democratic primary, the Zogby poll had Obama beating Hillary Clinton by 13 points, while the real result was Hillary winning by 9.8%, or a little over 441,000 votes. A similar thing happened in New Hampshire as well as other states.

Although he really needed to make it count, you can never count any candidate out; especially McCain. Luckily for McCain, he never stops fighting until the fight is done. There is no doubt, however, that he needs to solidify his campaign so they are all speaking as one voice with one consistent message, and he needs to really step it up in the next debate. All that being said, GO OBAMA! I'M WITH YOU!

THE OLD NEGATIVE POLITICAL TECHNIQUES NO LONGER APPLY TO THIS NEW GENERATION.
DIRTY TACTICS ARE VERY LUCID THROUGHOUT HIS CAMPAIGN.
THIS IS A WHOLE NEW GENERATION OF YOUNG AMERICANS. THERE IS NO MODEL BY WHICH TO COMPARE THIS CAMPAIGN, YET.
THE NEW KIDS TODAY SEE THINGS A BIT MORE CLEARLY AS THEY COME FROM PARENTS WHO ARE MUCH MORE EDUCATED ON POLITICS THEN PREVIOUS GENERATIONS.

He did poorly. I kind of felt bad for him. He seemed uneasy and jumpy. His smile looked like he was up to something rather than genuine. He seems desperate and lost. I expect he'll just keep going negative with the hopes that something will stick.

He needs to close the gap between his lips. He's letting Palin get away with the dirty message which he endorses, but then comes back and tries to clean it up in a nice way to make himself look good in the public eye. That One? Can be used in a lot of ways it shows how slick McCain is and not go over the edge but right to it and stop.

Body count. In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago , 221 killed in Iraq .

Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, House leader Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike), Mayor Richard M. Daley (son of former Mayor Richard J. Daley).....the leadership in Illinois.....all Democrats.

Chicago is a combat zone. Of course they're all blaming each other.
Can't blame Republicans, there aren't any!

State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country.

Cook County ( Chicago ) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. (Look'em up if you want). Chicago school system one of the worst in country.

This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois .

    He's gonna 'fix' Washington politics????????

Can't really help where you grow up. And he was a community organizer in Chicago, not a political leader. If you want to blame anybody for Chicago's situation, blame the mayor. Blame the governor of Illinois. The senators are in Washington representing the state on a national level, not running the state itself. And you're providing information like you know something?
  • Jan dude 2008/10/14 16:52:42

yea he was a community organizer....how the HELL did he become a senator?? Senator's have every power of Mayor's or governors.... They have a choice where they want to reside....some work from home even! The People are the ones who voted for him....they want change local, along with national....

What could he have done to better his community? he obviously didn't lift a finger....and he thinks he can come in and tell us he's gunna help and change? how about he starts small.....then can take on America.

Obviously he was an outstanding community organizer who had enough impact to get people to follow him. And can you please tell me where in the constitution or ANY law where it says that a Senator has every power of Mayor or governor? It doesn't, because your head is up your butt. According to the constitution the responsibilities of congress is to organize the executive and judicial branches, raise revenue, declare war, and make all laws necessary for executing these powers. Where does it say run the state your representing? If you're going to voice your opinion, you might want to back it up with a little bit of fact, not just what you think.

Well if this is his responsibility, he damn sure has performed a piss poor job of accomplishing anything in congress. Like you say he has enough power to convince idiots like you to support him just because says he is going to take care of all of our problems which is like living in a dream world. I agree that if he accomplishes what he says he will he will save the entire world. As far as I know all of our enemies support him along with all major countries. He will not receive my vote but will probably be our next president and all of out problems will be over.

Your thoughts have no rhythm, especially when you try to express them via words, but I'll try to respond... Congress can be look at as a team sport: One person alone does not make the difference, it takes many people together. And I think he's done an adequate job as a senator. Before you dismiss this, try to actually research what he's done/supported by looking at bills he has sponsored/cosponsored rather than taking somebody else's word that he's done nothing. Also, what does it matter who supports which candidate? All that matters is what that candidate supports. Who do you think the KKK supports? If you vote McCain, do you think that this will somehow equate you to a KKK member? Absolutely not, so your argument is very irrelevant and tries to create disassociation through false inferences. Lastly, both candidates have said a lot and have both proposed many plans that will never be fully realized. This is the fact of the matter and I understand it. Therefore, I still vote according to their plans because it gives me insight on what their priorities are and what they believe in. I also am voting based on their performance during the race. Obama clearly shows better judgment than McCain on policy, reading situations, and choosing political associates.
