Scozzafava's Defection Creates Uproar

- Who Asked You?

GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava's departure from New York's 23rd congressional race is causing an uproar among Democrats.

Scozzafava is a liberal Republican who supports gay marriage, the Democrats' stimulus package and card check legislation. Her membership in the party shows just how broad the GOP is, but that's not what the Democrats are now saying.

They're using her exit from the race to accuse the party of ideological extremism. ... Read full article »

    say what?
I see it more as a defection of the GOP for supporting her in the first place.Conservatives need to forget the GOP and vote for conservative patriots regardless of party.

Seems simple enough to me...whenever the GOP run conservative candidates, they win landslide victories (e.g. 1980, 1984). When they run moderates, they sometimes win, and they sometimes lose (e.g. 1988-2004). When they run liberals (e.g. 2008), they get destroyed. If I wanted a liberal candidate, I'd be a Democrat.

Maybe there's a reason why Democrats call the GOP extremists to make us afraid of running conservative candidates. They know that everytime a conservative runs, they win, and when the GOP runs moderates and liberals, they usually lose.

The Republican party is a party of conservative values. If you want liberalism, that party already exists. And, they look for extremist radical socialists these days.

This was the race that mattered Tuesday night. And the CA 10. Both showed that the voters know that the Teabaggers are lying, hateful idiots. The exit polls in VA and NJ last night were stark. The voters voted in Republican governors but still approved of President Obama by over 55% in both states, that he was not a factor in their decisions. The Republican party is collapsing, imploding, whatever you want to call it, and needs to get its act together to be a force in 2010. 90% of McCain's votes came from white men in 2008. The demographics are changing in this country and white men are not a majority of voters. The so called big tent of the Republicans needs to open up or they and the kkk/teabagger wing will find themselves shut out. Just saying.

Republican and conservative are two very different things. I could care less if a moderate (aka liberal) republican leaves the party.

That is why it is time to stop equating conservatism with Republicanism. One is an ideal, a philosphy of governing the latter is a political entity dedicated to winning elections regardless of philosophy.

Doesnt surprise me... Everytime something doesnt go "their" way they cry foul! Did any of them bat an eye when Kennedy died and the State of Ma. immediately wanted to change the law back to the Gov. being able to appoint his replacement? A law, I might add, that was put in place when a Republican was Gov.!

And now because Palin didn't think was was 'ideologically pure' enough (although Newt had no problem with her)
a Democrat has taken the seat for the first time in 150 years!!

Let's all think of other GOP members Sarah Palin can "help".

Is Fox claiming that anti-"RINO" sentiment isn't present throughout the Republican Party?

It's eating the people who could win in places other than the South. Have fun as a regional party!

Poor Scuzzyflavor, lived the life of a RINO and when she was called out, she ran like a squealing mutt with her tail between her legs. She had the chance to step up and throw her support behind a real conservative but instead she crawled into another flea bitten mongrel bed and they all went down together to be euthanized at the liberal pound for stupid untrainable dogs. flea bitten mongrel bed euthanized liberal pound stupid untrainable dogs

Going back to root concepts and principles is "ideological extremism"? Good. We've obviously got them scared. Lets keep it up. Deviating from those principles the last couple of decades has got the GOP to where it is at now. This is Change I Can Believe In.
