The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) just ruled that the "Individual Mandate" clause of the Affordable Care Act (aka "Obamacare") raise taxes on everyone. The SCOTUS ruled the Individual Mandate Unconstitutional in relation to the Constitution's Commerce Clause -- but ruled it Constitutional as a tax increase.

President Obama promised he would not raised taxes on the working class, the middle class or the poor. Obama's 2012 re-election campaign may have suffered its greatest setback because now Obama has to answer this contradiction to the public, media and Moderates.

Chief Justice John Roberts, a Conservative appointed by President George W. Bush, decided the swing vote and wrote the court's opinion. Roberts joined the Liberal justices in the decision. President Obama may again blame George W. Bush...

You might not like it, but the mandate holds the whole thing together. If people don't like this. then maybe we could just get single payer, like every industrial country in the world has. We can't go on with this antiquated system we have now!!!

What I don't like is everybody on the left continuing to harp that everybody has this but us as though THEY are doing Great..

They Aren't.. The economies of ALL of these places are ALL having trouble and MOST are worse off then WE are and the horror stories of their Healthcare keep cropping up as well..

WE had problems NOT with an ANTIQUATED system.. WE had problems with the BEST Healthcare system in the entire world.. People,, from ALL over the world,, came HERE to get care.. Care that they COULD NOT GET at home.. We SHOULD have restricted ourselves to fixing the problems instead of ADOPTING a system that has failed and contributed to the failures of every country where this had been tried..

Yeah rich people come here for health care. We do have the best health care in the world if your wealthy. I know the right wingers are just fixated on wealth, and don't consider that the rest of us just can't go to the best and pay for it out of our pocket. So get real we have a problem with the rest of the population. The wealthy are doing fine.

If these countries have such poor health care systems, then why don't they copy ours??? I'll tell you why, they see 50 million people who can't afford insurance, they see that we have the most expensive health care in the world, they see we are 37th in the world with our health, they see they have a longer life span, we have a higher rate of infanticide. So why do you think they wont take our system. You don't have to be a genius to figure it out.

AGAIN you don't know what you're talking about.. Obamacare CREATES a TWO TEIR system where the wealthy can PAY out of pocket for the healthcrae that NORMAL income and poor people would be REFUSED..

And i'll tell you something.. You left wingers LOVE to scream that " the poor have no Healthcare" BS.. That's never been the case.. THEY get better healthcare HERE then anywhere else..

As for the expense.. WAIT 'till Obamacare runs SMACK into the face of the REASONS for the expense.. Treating the poor and ILLEGALS had a LOT to DO with that as did the NECESSITY of running unnecessary TEST and procedures to AVOID a MALPRACTICE suit..

Obamacare doesn't even ADDRESS those issues so it's a foregone conclusion that IT will SUFFER from that negligence as much as the system it's replacing..

And WE haven't even BEGUN to discuss the Doctor Shortage and the increased burden on those who are actually in the trenches..

A HEALTHCRARE sysstem that was designed without a SINGLE Doctor being consulted.. Smart.. REAL smart..

What a bunch of right wing blather. Two tier system WTF are you talking about. The poor get better health care than anywhere else? If that's true why are 30 million of them not have health insurance????? Also what does the shortage of doctors have to do with ACA???? All I hear is the same old right wing talking points.

There's a difference between people not having health insurance and people not getting healthcare.. A BIG difference.. NOBODY gets REFUSED healthcare in this country by LAW.. They may not get the healthcare of say,, a President Obama,, but they DO get healthcare..

THAT doesn't change under Obamacare either..

WHERE'S the 30 million DEAD people who DIED because they DIDN'T get healthcare?? WHERE are the bodies??

The number of uninsured is inflated anyway and DOESN'T talke into account that half of them are Illegals and a good portion of them CAN afford it but CHOOSE not to have it..

Actually 50 million don't have health insurance, 30 million can't afford it, 20 million just don't want it. These numbers don't come from leftist, they come from the Census Bureau. So try and use a little common sense instead of just repeating right wing propaganda!!!

So why should tax payers pay for people who don't want to buy insurance. When they have to go to the E.R. in an emergency then every one has to pay for them. So they are gambling that nothing will happen to them, but if they lose the gamble, we the taxpayers actually are the ones who lose, not them. What a deal huh.

THIS has done NOTHING to fix the problem of those who will not pay for their OWN healthcare.. If ANYTHING,, it has opened the door to NEW abuses to the problem.. FIRST of all.. the FIRST thing that's going to happen is that the Poor will get exemptions.. Other People will pay the penalty rather then the Premiums and get healthcare when they get SICK because NOW,, they can't be refused for pre existing conditions..

No sir.. THIS program hasn't solved a DAMN thing and if ANYTHING,, it will INCREASE the BURDEN on a system that already HAS a Doctor Shortage and restrictive regulations..

Justice Roberts just did the Republicans a huge favor. He insured a win in November. Now we will have the POTUS, House and Senate.

You see, the TAX mandate is not collectable or enforceable and the single biggest, least wanted tax to ever be created. 70% of Americans DON'T want the mandate and as a tax they will HATE IT.

The States don't have to comply with expansion. SO they will get their funding even when they refuse to expand medicare and medicade. There goes the ability to make States comply and kills the funding issue.

Thanks Justice Roberts, you just became my new hero.

This makes Romney a shoe in for POTUS AND repeal of Obiecare.

Just call me Scottyg, making lemonade out of lemons daily.

Thank you GOD for keeping the health care reform bill in place, thank you GOD!

Millions of people need the ability to buy insurance, millions of people can not afford to be dropped from their insurance because the insurance companies have played crooked games. This bill will help everyone and I am so grateful for this decision, I can not express enough gratitude for it.

I could not sleep last night worrying about this bill going down and my child you must have her insurance to LIVE, would go down the toilet. Thank you GOD!

By law,... they can not raise the prices dramatically anymore... by law! They tried this in our state last year just before the provision for children w/ pre existing conditions went into effect. And it was shut down by our state Supreme court. BOTH my children now, one w/ no problems and one w/ a life long problem have the same exact policy, same coverage, same cost... $165/month full medical and dental. AND, I found out from our pediatricians office and then the state... that we qualify to get this much cheaper because of the bill and our income. Could be as low as $30/month per child. Mistake I made was going to a broker, because we could not get insurance for our daughter anywhere because of her illness. Until Sept when "\Obamacare" for the kids went into effect last fall. The broker hates this bill... why???? she said since the insurance companies can not jack up rates anymore, it cuts into her commission. So she sold me the most expensive policy they had. Now I know better and will just buy the kids insurance direct through the state.... save a fortune and breathe MUCH easier.

Again, the insurance companies in our state tried to raise this dramatically before this part went into effect... and they LOST!!!!!!!!!!!

So you feel that people should not have a right to medical care unless they can afford to live, right?

You feel that children like my own who MUST have medical care to survive, should die, and that Jesus would agree wholeheartedly with you.

You think that those who want to live are greedy and self serving. Even if they only want to live so they can be there for their children, right?

You think that insurance companies should be allowed, their God given right, to take your money, then deny you care when you get ill or injured, that is their right.

You think it is more important to give subsidies to oil and insurance companies than pay for an old ladies broken hip repair. She should just die instead.

You think that families who have lost everything from banks ruining them, to employers like Romney dropping them after they worked for years on end, and mortgage companies taking advantage by writing crooked loans, deserve to be homeless and you would prefer they die in the streets.

    Shall I continue?

You go ahead and show proof of GOD in any of what you believe in... please show me... because I think, and am just assuming here... but I think God and Jesus are flat out ashamed of people who feel like you, tea baggers and the GOP do and have behaved the last 10 years or so. There is nothing God-like or Christian in any of the greedy ugly hateful lying things the GOP, Fox news, Tea baggers, etc... have done. Not one single thing.

You can take your manipulative, over-dramatic appeal to sympathy and cram it, no one is "entitled" to things they don't earn themselves. Everyone in the United States gets health care, there's just different ways that it is paid for.

As far as God is concerned, this is one of the most un-Godly things this country has ever done in its entire history. How selfish can someone be? You're going to let your grandparents die, who have already done their hard labor and took care of you in your infancy, so that you can get your care months faster?

None of it is true. You have every right to believe it is, if you want to, but you're just wasting your own precious valuable energy and buying right into their crap.

This bill has been in effect in many parts for several years now, it is being implemented in steps... and nothing bad has come from any of it. Only good things have happened. No one has died because of the bill, people have been saved instead. No child has been dumped from their insurance or denied insurance since last Sept, because the law no longer allows this to happen. Come 2014, everyone will be able to buy insurance, no one will be denied no matter what their past medical history is. As of now, since that part has not yet gone into effect, millions of Americans still do not have any insurance at all.... because the insurance companies are still allowed to deny them, until 2104... then bye bye to that BS and all will be allowed to buy insurance.
