The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) just ruled that the "Individual Mandate" clause of the Affordable Care Act (aka "Obamacare") raise taxes on everyone. The SCOTUS ruled the Individual Mandate Unconstitutional in relation to the Constitution's Commerce Clause -- but ruled it Constitutional as a tax increase.
President Obama promised he would not raised taxes on the working class, the middle class or the poor. Obama's 2012 re-election campaign may have suffered its greatest setback because now Obama has to answer this contradiction to the public, media and Moderates.
Chief Justice John Roberts, a Conservative appointed by President George W. Bush, decided the swing vote and wrote the court's opinion. Roberts joined the Liberal justices in the decision. President Obama may again blame George W. Bush...
Heres the easy line now for conservatives. 50 votes in the Senate and a President Romney. Thats all you need to repeal this. Thats assuming Republicans retain the House.
I read today that there isn't a concern about filibuster in the Senate because the repeal can take the same route as its passing - budget reconciliation. So 50 votes plus the VP as a tie breaker will put this on Romneys desk.
There are all types of conservatives out there and a number of types don't trust Romney or just aren't excited by him. The thing is that the path is very clear and could be achieved. One of the key pillars in Romneys campaign now will be the death of Obamacare. He has no choice but to run on it, and once elected he'll have no choice but to sign a repeal if it gets to him (assuming you're one of those thats so worried that he really actually supports it) otherwise risk becoming a lame duck within his first year.
There is not a sensible argument out there that if Romney wins and Republicans can get 50 votes in Congress that this legilslation won't be repealed within weeks.
So, this should be a rally cry to shore up the conservative base and turn them out en masse. At that point it comes down to swaying some independents in AZ, MO, FL, NC, VA, OH, IA. Those are the states Romney can reasonably win and take the White House.
As long as Romney wins its only 50, wherever they come from from Republicans to a few blue dogs. If you can get just 50 then the VP becomes the tie breaker.
Yes it has hurt his chances and now many States are going to refuse implementing it, I for one am tired of the left dictating to me what I can and cannot have, how much money they should take out of pocket, I am fed up with all these nanny state regulations, I for one not only am I pissed about this but I want a revolt against this, we have to show a huge backlash against this ruling.
The US has to improve health care. We need to be as good as Costa Rica, Morocco, Columbia, Monaco, or any of the other 36 countries that are ranked higher than we are by the World Health Organization. We are number one when it comes to health care cost - it's time to do better than 37th when it comes to health care provided.
Ever heard of a picture is worth a thousand words. Evidently if anyone has problems completing thoughts or looking ahead to see how certain aspects of government can hurt this country, that would be a Liberal.
He is when I listen to him. In fact, few presidents were as articulate - Kennedy and Clinton come to mind. All three are of superior intellect. Does he use words that you can't understand?
Since 60% of American people still want it repealed, and everyone knows Obama Lied about it NOT being a tax, the Voters would have to be insane to vote for Obama now!
And, so does Criminal Contempt against Brian Terry, his loving family, Brian's co-workers and brother-in-arms, Congress and US, he took an oath for and failed - miserably.
Raising taxes is traditionally the third rail of politics which the Dems tried to hide in Obamacare. And while it would have been a saner outcome for John Roberts to just jettison this whole insanity Obama's lapdogs would be yelping till the end of time that Obamacare was killed by Bush's Supreme Court. Let Obama and his party pay the price in this election then.
The big majority of the Dems who lost their election/re-election bids in 2010 House races tried to distance themselves as far as possible from 0bamacare and still got their butts kicked. Now he will have to try to defend this POS all over again, as the majority of the American people (55-40 percent) still do not want it.
Roberts seems to have accomplished one thing: by ruling it a tax and not allowing it to proceed under the commerce clause, he's pretty much prevented, or completely stopped future use of the commerce clause by Congress to push unwanted legislation that taxes the public. Now, they'll have to call it what it really is... a Tax! And I imagine many of them will think twice about doing it if they'll be accused of raising taxes.
He thinks it protects him from evil. And that brings up the question:
Do we really want a President who wears magic underwear?
Do we want the country to go in that direction?

Again, a clear path.
A lot of people are DAMN PISSED right now. Hell, Romney raised a million bucks in 3 hours yesterday.
A hot race just got even hotter.
How does it feel?
