This is disturbing if true as it will be possible to extract private information from people in custody.

We are still attempting to unravel the etiology & definitive diagnoses of mental health disorders, mapping actual thoughts is science fiction at this juncture. Neurotransmitters are chemicals however individuals react differently to the same stimuli, hence varying the chemical blueprint. Don't lose sleep over this, BTW even sleep remains controversial in terms of it's actual physiological purpose.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!! Kidding, I'm not worried. If they bothered to look carefully, someone might have offered me a better freakin' job! No...I'd just get hit with an even bigger 'overqualified" stamp. Funny idea, but, if they really CARED what we thought, they wouldn't have to be so paranoid over what we're thinking.

I meant to say yes but someone was reading my brain and I got confused.

If the article is accurate and such technology does exist, just imagine how horribly it will be misused. Also think about how quickly the technology will be perfected and devices will be made small enough to carry in your pocket or purse. World governments and other criminals will be the first to abuse them. Before long they will be on sale at the Walmart for $19.95 and everybody will have one. The world would be a very frightening place without secrets and lies. I hope this isn’t true.

It's not like they're going to be interested about what's going on in my brain... And it could be useful for people like Steven Hawkings, they could think something and have it be said out loud.

It sounds like a more complex lie detector. Those aren't highly accurate because people can manipulate their bodies. The brain is different in that respect. It reacts to everything, but other accuracy problems come into play. they may recognize somebody, but that doesn't mean they even know them. I've seen the same peoples in the halls of my school for 4 years. I don't know many names or any details. Their familiar but not important. They also don't know if the recognition is from someone thinking about something else. Pictures don't even use up a little bit of cognition. You can show me a picture and I'll be analyzing the picture and thinking about homework at the same time. Besides I'm skeptical that this e300 signal is actually verified for just familiarity.

This is primitive technology and I can already see ways to circumvent its usefulness through nothing more than simple meditation techniques and or cluttering up your mind with useless thoughts that have nothing to do with the questions at hand.

    But...

Technology evolves and in this day and age it evolves fast, especially if the research gets funded. Wireless tech is also evolving fast. What if a handheld scanner is developed that can scan crowds looking for 'potential crimes'. Or how about wireless impulses that can trigger areas of the brain and 'calm' people down? Thought police here we come.

Granted, my interest in sci-fi may be coloring these admittedly extreme examples, but it's still scary to think about and anymore, I don't think the development or utilization of devices like that are really that far-fetched anymore. Just think about how far technology has come over the last 100 years, or 50, or even 20. Hell 10 years ago the world was a different place technologically speaking.

There will be no end to the evil nature of a godless man--the power elites will never admit man's nature cannot be forced into change. Only by the grace of God is a man free to rise to his best self, not by laws. As if condemnation of one's previous acts isn't enough, now they are trying to pre-condemn us all by our mere thoughts.

The problem is that money is their god. They must believe it makes no difference how they acquire and horde it because they're being rewarded with wealth, right? Notice how they've twisted the words of President Obama to suit their purpose? That's how selective bibling works. THAT's how they read the Bible.

It's all guess work any way. It's not a lot different than a lie detector that can indicate if your telling the truth or lying. As soon as they get an electrical "buzz" they are guessing that they are probably getting close.

I don't think that they can read a mind, as only activities in the different parts of the brains can be measured. They can determine anger, excitement, relaxation, but real thoughts?
