School Teaching Kindergartners That There Are More Than Two Genders

snipe 2011/05/25 13:58:40

Now isn't this just a typical load of Leftist BS? Have our Schools become nothing more than Liberal indoctrination Camps?

Redwood Heights Elementary School will be teaching children in grades kindergarten through fifth that there are more than two genders. The two days calendared for this are entitled "Gender Spectrum Diversity Training." ... Another document from the school advises parents: "When you discuss gender with your child, you may hear them (sic) exploring where they (sic) fit on the gender spectrum and why." ... The activities and reading list include: Grades K-1: "Boy, girl or both? Which Outfit, Which Hairdo? (Reading) My Princess Boy."Grades 2-3 "What is gender? (Reading)10,000 Dresses." Grades 4-5: "Three dimensions of gender. (Reading/Song) All I Want to be is Me." ... "Though to many this may seem extreme, based upon some of the bills now pending in the Capitol such as SB 48, this will be the new normal in California's K-12 public schools," [attorney Kevin] Snider continued.

There is only two genders, unless a mutation occurs and the result is a hermaphrodite. I would say.

Indoctrination is indeed a problem, not sure if this is indoctrination. It does seem a bit misguided though and over complicates something I found quite easy to understand as a kid.

WRONG! There are NOT more than two GENDERS. There are MALES and FEMALES.

Both males and females may have abnormalities or anomalies (Def of anomalies:
[something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected] resulting in sexual confusion. Like it or not, we call them homosexuals and transsexuals.

Homosexuality is not a choice. Do you choose who you fall in love with? It's a simple question that every sane person knows the answer to.

Anyway, that is beside the point. Sexual orientation is completely separate from gender.

There have been some very real cases of gender confusion, and one should be aware of
that, but the K--5 is not the time to discuss this. The very obvious cases can be seen
in the delivery room and there is usually a discussion with the parents about this situation
before gender is listed on the birth certificate. 0ther times it is not so blatant and is
not identified until later in the life of the child. I really don't think this is a condition that
is so prevalent that it should be taught in elementary school. What has become of our
    educational system.

So gender is either male or female; if there are more than two genders, what are the
other genders? Are they Its? Or Zombies? That really becomes a question if there are more
than two genders? Could be to the immature brain, this would create more problems
than it solves..... Confusion and questioning by the child about what they are..... would
the Tom Boy, which I was, be led to believe she wasn't really a girl?

I agree that it is a very small percentage of kids that become homosexual or transgendered due to actual biological reasons. The majority, it seems, become that way as a learned behavior, due to some trauma or because they were not taught otherwise. If my son grows up to be gay, I will accept him. But as for my part, I am going to raise him and teach him to be a man. I don't want the school system confusing him.

I believe people are born with both conditions..... Who would choose to be a homosexual
by choice?... it certainly isn't an easy way of life. I do agree that the school system should
not be teaching elementary children the facts of life.

Yeah, elementary school aged children know nothing of sexuality. Best to at least wait until middle school. And even then, I would prefer that the schools only teach tolerance and leave it at that. Like I said, if my sons grows up to be gay, I will accept and love him. I would just prefer that he doesn't get confused at an early age by a meddling teacher pushing an agenda.

you saId, "I prefer that he doesn't get confused at an early age by a meddling teacher pushing an agenda".

confused age meddling teacher pushing agenda bingo

It is way too early to present this kind of information to young children. In
an over anxious attempt to present homosexuality as a normal thing.... they could
do more damage to young children who are already confused about accidental sexual arousal and feelings ... It is called unintended consequences, and I think there is a big possibility this would happen more than one could imagine...... doing more damage than good. I have no idea of the percent of homosexuals/gender dysfunction there is
in the population, but I do know that there are a lot more children who are not, who
may be tom boys, etc. which certainly is normal. I think the key to this lies with
parents in the home, but unfortunately there are too many parents who have the
biblical idea about homosexuality.......... it still doesn't warrant teaching young
    children in the school system.

Being Christian, I do kinda support the Biblical idea about homosexuality. But it's not something that you can harp on every minute of every day without having negative consequences. I will teach my son the tenants of my faith, but also accept him for who he is.

While I was in school I was bullied. I was quiet and awkward, and so I was called "[...]" and "homo" even though I never had what I thought were any homosexual tendencies. The last thing I want from my child is for him to bully anyone for any reason. The Bible I have been taught from doesn't endorse bullying, nor does it teach intolerance. No where does it say that homosexuality is an unforgivable sin.

Though I feel homosexuality is morally wrong, I also feel that people deserve the rights to live life without being abused by their peers for any reason, be it their faith, race, or sexual preference. Like I said, I agree with teaching tolerance. They should even go further and teach more on religious tolerance. That would be good for Christians, Jews, and even Muslims. This country could benefit a lot from people being more open minded towards ideas that are different from their own.

This is a first for me. It's the first time anything I have posted has been censored here on SH. Given the context, I think I am a little insulted. Especially considering some of the the truly vile things I have read here in the past that seemed to be solely about hate. And it's not like I used a slur and directed toward someone.

It appears that SH is taking a new approach to TOS violations. One of the words I used to describe the names the kids use as insults was replaced with [...]. Not really a big deal, I guess. I just felt like, given the context in which it was used, I was justified by using it. Especially given the amount profanity I see here ever day.

It seems to me that kids are getting into sex at an earlier and earlier age as time goes on. I guess this includes homosexual sex. It's sad. They don't learn proper English. Don't learn History. Know nothing of the Constitution. But sex and sexuality are priorities.

This is the same as teaching religion in school. Some things should be learned at home. If I think it is wrong to teach my son about transgenderism and homosexuality, I don't want the school system going behind my back and teaching him it's alright if he wants to be a girl. I don't want the government sticking their respective noses in my family's religious beliefs and I don't want them meddling with my children's sexual orientation. This seems fair to me.
