Seeing wrong does not mean you have to do wrong. I saw some bad things growing up but I didn't do them. Parents are supposed to teach their children right and wrong, many don't. Poor teachers I know deal with out of control kids all the time and who do they blame? The teachers and the school system! Dang they don't even so much as think, hey maybe it's me.

One of the biggest problems with our youth is the break down in parenting, the break down in chastisement. I explained to my children that in life there is always someone over you, from birth it's Mother, Father and grandparents, in school, it's teachers, and school administrators, in college, it's professors and scholl administrators, and when you go to work, you've got it, there's overseers. Children have to be taught and "disciplined" to respect others as themselves. Our society is in a sad state of affairs, because many adults are in worse shape than our youth and young adults. Often time when they get into trouble, it's a little late to instill what should have been taught from the day they came into the world. I am so greatful for the family that I was raised by, and I appeciate every spanking and discipline that I've received. I did a background check last month, and it was squeaky clean, I owe that to my family, teachers, work affiliates and my pastor.

Kids need rules like being respectful to other people no mater the age. "Kids will be kids" is not appropriate excuse. when allowed to be hurtful when will they learn?

The harassment seemed like nothing compared to what I used to suffer on the bus, but they need to be punished to let them know bullying will not be tolerated. Of course if the adults weren't accustomed to looking the other way - including the bus driver - this never would have happened.

She received apology letters from the kids who did this to her and hopefully those boys learned a lesson. They certainly couldn't deny what they did nor could their parents once it was out on youtube.

A jail term would be appropriate but not for the children but the parents who didn't teach them respect for their elders.

These little bundle of joys can act the greatest when parents are around, and turn around and act like devils when they are no longer supervised by the parents. Kids who act like this know how to play the systems and know that very little, if any punishment, will be handed down

Total lack of respect is a learned behavior. We've kicked God, authority, discipline and accountability out of our schools and homes, then refer to these low life thugs as poor misguided children. If the parents gave a rat's ass about their "children" this sort of occurrence would rarely happen if at all.

Forget the investigations... just kick ONE of the asses of these kids and show them that this isn't going to be tolerated.

And for those of you who take EVERYthing literally... I don't necessarily mean take them out behind the woodshed... or do I?

They should be punished by school and parents and made to individually come up to her with an apology and a hug. They disrespected her on all levels and they should be made to see that and not get away with a pat on the back.

I can't begin to describe how disappointed I am in my own generation. I honestly have no clue why we are this way... don't they have any empathy or compassion at this point? Dear lord, that was one of the first things I was taught by my parents (not to mention respect for your elders). To have respect for people's feelings, and treat every person you encounter in a positive and non-demeaning manner. Watching these kids verbally abuse this woman makes me lose more of the little hope I have for them. Screw policy, these kids all deserve to be slapped as hard as possible by this lady. My word can't possibly make up for thousands of these little ignorant emotionless pricks that I have to grow up with, but I wish I could tell her how sorry I am on behalf of my generation. Morality really is dead.

I hear you' but never feel guilt or apologize for deeds done by others. Continue to stay on the pathways of morality because you get to feel the power of principals and the heavens are smiling down on you wherever you go and in whatever you do. You have a lot of angels watching over you and are ready to protect you when needed, so relax and enjoy your life because wonderful things and events and people await you to help you in all you desire to accomplish in your life.

These students should have to go on television, be publicly seen, and apologize. I also believe this woman is getting far too much attention over this, and funds raised on her behalf. There have been many older people bullied by young who did not get any attention about it. Why did the bus driver ignore what was taking place.?

First of all the bus driver has to keep eyes on the road and consentrate on the driving part. The bus monitor is there to make sure the ride to or from school is fun, safe and orderly.
Being that old and having someone's bad ass kid disrespecting her is unacceptable.
She deserve the money and then some'
If I was in charge of de-bullying their little spoiled rotten bad asses; because you can tell they didn't have trained manners at home, in how to behave in public and respect towards other people!
I would make their butts spend their allowance on a gift for her and humbly apologize to her; and, make them write letters individually expressing to her just what was they thinking that day. The letters would be sealed individually in envelopes from each kid, talking to her in their letters about their stupid behavior. You sound like you're defending those bad ass kids, and like you're jealous the old lady got attention. Where is your logic for defending bad disrespectful untrained in manners kids?
Just curious in what you have to say and everybody worldwide want to see your intelligence guru"
    P.S.
The kids don't need attention for what they did to her via television. They need to go to her in private and apologize sincerely to her.
They don't need to be made to seem; like they are stars for what they've done. No tv shows to be on for their "bad and rude behavior"
