Twitter just can't seem to keep itself out of the news! And Twitter plus politics? Well, you'd think by now politicians would have gotten the message to stay away, but nope.
Of all the things President Obama could be focusing on, we learned recently that he'll be tweeting personally from the @BarackObama Twitter account, which seems both unlikely and unwise.
And it didn't take long for the Right to weigh in. Former Bushie Dana Perino says if Obama has free time to spend Twittering away, then perhaps we'd better “re-examine the roles and responsibilities of the president of the United States.”
On the other hand, if Republicans think everything Obama does results in disaster, then shouldn't they be happy he's got a new hobby to keep him occupied?

The Wrong Guy June 22, 2011 00:50:44It's cool he's on Twitter+23If Sarah Palin can entertain the world with her buffoonery-via-tweets, it's only fair that Obama can continue agitating the increasingly-fragile and perpetually-frightened opposition with tweets. At any rate, it'll give them all something else to dissect in their search for "proof" that he's the Kenyan-born Muslim commie they wish he was.

Re: George Bush
"According to CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, today's trip marks Mr. Bush's 149th visit to the presidential retreat. The planned three-day stay, during which the president is being joined by family and former and current aides, will bring his total time spent at Camp David to all or part of 487 days.
Yes, that's 487 days. And Camp David is not even where the president has spent the most time when not at the White House: Knoller reports that Mr. Bush has made 77 visits to his ranch in Crawford during his presidency, and spent all or part of 490 days there."

"The president himself will be tweeting ON OCCASION [caps mine], according to TechCrunch."
"Obama hasn't sent a personal tweet yet."
Thus, Dana Perino and her minions need to get their facts straight, or else just STFU. The GOP and the Tea Party are trying to make it seem like President Obama will be spending hours on his smartphone, posting tweets on his @BarackObama Twitter account. This is patently false. His Facebook and Twitter accounts were created by Obama for America and managed by the DNC. However, effective immediately, Obama for America has taken over both accounts. THEY will be posting "daily updates from the campaign trail, from Washington and everywhere in between."
So, there are the FACTS regarding @Barack Obama on Twitter. Conservatives should get their stories straight before jumping the gun and putting forth half-truths and sometimes outright lies. Of course, the Republicans {in particular, the Tea Party} have been in permanent attack mode ever since Obama took office, but just as in this case, many of them go off half-cocked and run with their accusations, most of which are based on faulty information. I believe we could call this little idiosyncrasy of the conservatives "premature prevarication."
'presidenting?'
I just wonder how much time he will have to tweet considering how much time he spends campaigning and golfing and fitting in video chats with his wife and kids while they travel around the world on the public dime. At least he usually passes of most of his duties to Biden. That frees him up for running all the wars he has started and escalated since becoming commander in chief. Why is it again that none of the liberal groups are protesting his warmongering? After all, he has been "mongering" more that Bush ever did. Oh yeah. He's not a Republican.
Let's check out all the other things he has accomplished since a lot of people on this thread are bashing conservatives. Let's see. He extended the "Bush Tax Cuts" He has kept Gitmo open. He has kept military tribunals just like Bush. He has not only escalated the wars that Bush had goin...

Let's check out all the other things he has accomplished since a lot of people on this thread are bashing conservatives. Let's see. He extended the "Bush Tax Cuts" He has kept Gitmo open. He has kept military tribunals just like Bush. He has not only escalated the wars that Bush had going but has started a few of his own. He has created more debt than all other Presidents combined. The unemployment rate that Bush had at 5 percent before the Democrats took over Congress is now at around 9 percent with the percentage of Black unemployment and young adult unemployment (Obama's key constituency) is up to around 15 percent or more. He has shut down the oil rigs in gulf causing thousands of people to be out of jobs and the cost of gas has almost doubled. Even though he had a veto proof majority he barely passed the health care reform legislation which he promised would make insurance more affordable.
I don't know about you but everyone I know has seen a huge jump in their cost for health insurance and doctors are dropping patients left and right due to the cost of these"reforms" and the decrease in government payments for Medicaid and Medicare to the point they are losing money. Insurance companies have dropped some types of coverage. Obama has even admitted that it isn't good for companies. How? By granting waivers to hundreds of big corporations (those that donate to him).
By favoring Big Business who does he leave with the burden of these regulations? That is right. The small business person. The people that would have been hiring people back by now if they weren't so scared of the future under Obama.
There has never been a Recession that has lasted as long as it has under the Obama administration. Why? Because no matter how much he repeats that he is going to focus on jobs, he has no idea how jobs are created. If he did, then those billions of dollars would have put some people to work in jobs other than government jobs. You know things have to be bad when McDonald's had 1 million job applications last month and they hired 62000. McDonald's and Walmart appear to be the only places keeping the economy afloat right now. Yay hope and change.
