Santorum Uses Hitler Analogy to Describe Obama

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum on Sunday likened the upcoming U.S. election to World War II.
NBC news noted that he "seemed to compare President [Barack] Obama to [Adolph] Hitler."
The former Pennsylvania senator told his supporters that this election was like World War II, "where our closest ally, Britain, was being bombed and leveled."
"And America sat from 1940 when France fell to December of '41 and did almost nothing," he explained. "Why? Because we're a hopeful people. We think, 'You know it will get better. Yeah, I mean, he's a nice guy. It won't be near as bad as what we think. You know, this will be OK. You know, maybe he's not the best guy.' After a while, you found out some things about this guy over in Europe and maybe he's not so good of a guy after all. But you know what? 'Why do we need to be involved? We'll just take care of our own problems, just get our families off to work and our kids off to school and we'll be OK.'"
The candidate added: "Sometimes, sometimes it's not OK."
As BuzzFeed pointed out earlier this year, it's not the first time Santorum has compared his opponents to Adolph Hitler.
During a 2005 speech on the Senate floor, the then-senator blasted Senate Democrats for complaining that Republicans were trying to stop them from filibustering President George W. Bush's judicial appointees.
"It's the equivalent of Adolf Hitler in 1942: 'I'm in Paris. How dare you invade me? How dare you bomb my city? It's mine,'" he said.
Over the weekend, Santorum also said that Obama's theology was not "based on the Bible." He later clarified that he wasn't questioning if the president was a Christian.

I am not a fan but I give Hitler the only Hitler award .
If you are gonna compare Obama to anyone compare him to Reagan because that is who he reminds me of when we are talking about historical villains .
In addition, why do you think the East is ratcheting up its attacks? Why do you think the sanctions on Iran hasn't worked? Why do you think they are going ahead with the nuclear program? Because Obama has made clear Israel is on her own. Why does this affect the US? You need to start reading up on the goals of Jihad and the caliphate. Israel is little satan, and the US is big satan. BTW, 2012 in the year the nutjob in Iran believes the 12th Imam will be appearing. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, what matters is what he thinks. The imam can only return if there's war and chaos; and if he can help it along, all the better. You need to start reading up my friend.
The 12 Imam sounds like the same nuttiness Christians hope for with the second coming.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey told Israeli leaders on Jan. 20 that the United States would not participate in a war against Iran begun by Israel without prior agreement from Washington, according to accounts from well-placed senior military officers.

There is a vast difference between those that believe in the 2nd coming of Christ; and those that believe in the coming of the 12th imam. The first, it happens when it happens; the latter, there is a specific year, and certain order of events that must occur.
Re the Iman et al, if that's the only difference, it's not much. All my fundie friends seem to think there's a very definite order of events to the end times and the second coming. I'm as up with that as I am with the Mayan calendar stuff...
I just gave you the difference re: Christ and the Imam, of course, there is a lot more differences between Islam and Christians but, I only mentioned what you brought up.
As I said, the predictions of end times seem endlessly foolish to me. 'Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.' Matt 6:34
I'm not predicting the end times - no one knows the hour that will be. But I agree with your friends (or, whomever they are) - the signs are pointing in that direction.
Turkey has a democratic government, possibly a stronger one than Israel.
They are acquaintances. I live in Cali's Bible Belt and meet people who believe in the literal adherence to the Bible. THEY ardently desire and believe in the end times.
Turkey has a democratic government stronger than Israel? That's odd... I'm sure you're aware of this? http://ec.europa.eu/enlargeme...
The OT serves as a good understanding of history - and personally, I love the NT... don't follow it nearly as much as I'd like to, but, I recognize I'm human.
Re the NT, I'm with you. Lovely stuff (and a few oddities). I'm reading a fascinating book right now called 'The Existential Jesus' which examines the Gospel of Mark. Very powerful.
I never heard of that book and did a search through Amazon. I admit, I'm not sure if I'd be annoyed or intrigued....
I remember taking an art history class from a dynamic and extremely bright professor. We studied a Biblical cycle by Giotto and the professor spoke eloquently and with great intimacy about the story as portrayed by the artist, so much so that it was like listening to a great preacher. I always wondered (but would never have asked) if he were a believer.
An agnostic is simply one who doesn't know unlike an atheist (or what commonly passes for atheist) who is someone who 'knows' there is nothing). A true agnostic is one with deep humility in the face of the vast unknown.
The speech is about people sticking their head up their ass on Iran. Of anything , he is comparing Obama to the coward Chamberlin
