Happy? No, just glad the system worked as designed. Now, if only people had acted as well as the system did this time and turned this man in years before he did all this damage.

Now he won't be able to harm anyone ever again, and the victims get some sort of justice

The whole situation is sickening. Wonder just what will be done to prevent future happenings like this? Kinda glad that my daughter never went to a top sports college. I know this is not just confined to this one university.

The best thing that can be done is being done now- by creating a culture that doesn't re-victimize the victims by blaming and shaming them- and forcing them into silence and hiding. While hiding and protecting the abusers.
Like the slut walks. They're having a positive effect.

I feel money still rules. If a person is able to do the job of bringing in lots of money and is a main reason why a sports program is successful, the college, church, etc. will be too quick to ignore it and sweep it under the rug. Out of sight, out of mind.

And that very well could be, but if we teach our children not to blame the victims, they may speak up right away, instead of decades later.

That is true. It is too often that the victim gets nailed twice. Initially by the rapist and then by the authorities. This needs to end.

But I think we need to teach authority more than children. In the Zimmerman case it sounded like he was going to walk until complaints came in.

Yes, but it still doesn't change the money culture that allows these situations to flourish unheeded for years.
That solution is above my pay grade at this point.

Good question, and I don't have one off the top off my head that I feel lends itself to the gravity of the situation. I am glad that the judge was especially punitive in sentencing, but that won't change the lives that have been irreversibly harmed by this man.

...and unfortunately, somebody he molested will go on to do the same to others. :-(
